guys recently i surveyed few brand LED TVs..

currently i thought of getting either

SAMSUNG - UA40F5500ARXXM 40" Series 5 LED SMARTV, WIFI built in 100hz CMR....RM2199
at sengheng 400 discount from original price 2599, so can add up 5 years warranty for 329.. sounds worth

LG - 42 inch LM6700 3D CINEMA SCREEN, CINEMA 3D SMART TV, LED PLUS, MCI 400... RM3300
(not sure i saw 42 inch or 47 but this LM6700 already released last year, why the price RM3300 is it 2013 model with any extra features and firmware ?)

SONY - 42 inch W804A BRAVIA 3D / Internet LED backlight TV KDL-42W804A Motionflow™ XR 400 Hz.. RM3499...
website price

anyone can recommend me cheaper than above prices around KL area ? im from GOMBAK.

I have checked above 3 LED tvs, ya ofcourse the specifications varies based on the prices.. and the refresh rate are different as well..i got know about those Motionflow by sony, Clear Motion rate by samsung, Motion clarity index by LG are their own gimmick way of addressing the "REFRESH RATE"... the original way of calling the picture motion quality..

basically what they stated is not the actual refresh rate probably the increase of backlighting making it looks more awesome with one and another..
SAMSUNG 100hz CMR is 50hz REFRESH RATE
SONY 400hz MOTIONFLOW is 100hz REFRESH RATE
LG 400hz MCI/TRUEMOTION is 100hz REFRESH RATE

Attached Image

i also have tested some functions at showroom, like smartphone screen mirroring (galaxy note 2).. with UA40F5500 which is wifibuilt in with ALLSHARE i able to share screen wirelessly and quite fast probably samsung compatiblity..

tested with W804A BRAVIA, its detecting and connected via ALLSHARE but respond time not good as samsung TV.. probably Sonysmartphone like Xperia can go well.. then i have tested the MHL cable which comes with that TV connect to my NOTE 2.. said universal cable but its not detecting my mobile at all..

then tested LM6700, which have more cool functions, switched on WIFIdirect, able to detect my NOTE 2 signal, can connect but the screen not mirroring keep disconnecting.. the sales person not able to explain it saying maybe this TV only compatible with LG OPTIMUS smartphone.. so i have no idea if anyone here has this TV and able to screen mirroring wirelessly with this LG...

what i understand is you can able to share ur mobile screen either wired or wireless.. like for GALAXY NOTE 2 if connecting to non WIFI tv, u need to get samsung MHL cable which is different than usual MHL cable.. connect to HDMI port able to detect.. or else you can get ALLSHARE CAST wireless hub, connect to ur HDMI port.. able to detect the signal from ur mobile..

with the TV comes with WIFI built in with ALLSHARE, directly can able to detect wirelessly... looks like now this screen mirroring advanced to something call MIRACAST.. future smartphones and smartvs will be using this and can able to screen mirroring each other without hassle..

because i have seen GALAXY S4 which has MIRACAST able to mirror with LG TV.. but im not sure his phone able to detect because of the BLURAY player which has MIRACAST already connected to LG HDMI port.. this sounds like BLURAY player helping him to mirror the screen to LG... im not sure whether S4 and LG is compatible each other directly on screen mirroring...

another thing i would like to ask about

UA40F5000ARXXM ConnectShare™ (USB 2.0) Movie (HDD)
UA40F5500ARXXM ConnectShare™ (USB 2.0) Movie

so that means the F5000 model can read HARD DISK DRIVE plug in straight to USB , where F5500 dont read HDD, only USB flash drive ? no way we can make HDD run directly plug into USB ? the USB board created such way just to read USB flash drive ? sounds ridiculous ha..

any one here has any experiences welcome to share friends...

The LM6700 only support screen mirroring by using LG smartphone if im not mistaken. Ive tried mine using iphone but cannot find a way.But this year's models all have the new Miracast feature which i suppose can connect to most smart devices
*
i believe only galaxy S4 just started with MIRACAST in samsung, maybe other brand latest models already start having it.. LM6700 i see still in market, 2013 still has production is it with new version with new firmwares ? im not sure i saw 42 or 47, that shop said about RM3300.. also not sure whether he is still selling old model with same price when its came out last year...

some i saw in this forum mentiong LM6700 is RM2700 something, i need to check with that shop again what model i saw ha ? oh ya now i remember i took the latest brochures with me for 2013 models.. need to get back home later n check it..

Just want to check anyone own this modal can share bad n goood remarks on this...
The usb port is it can connect n play direct to hard disk drive... or need media player?
How about hdmi port is it 1.4? If it is not does it read connect with 1.4 cable to lesser version of ports?

another thing i noticed LM6700 says its LED +... does it plays FULL HD movies ?
because some LG models stated with FULL HD... some HD READY some LED PLUS...
so im wondering how the FULL HD movie looks like if play in LED PLUS LM6700 ?
is it full view or like viewing in HD READY ?

Being Trumotion 240hz means its using 120hz panel NOT a true 240hz. Cnet has verified this with lg.

200hz panel uses Trumotion 480hz.
*
i thought only 60HZ country models LG using TRUEMOTION where 240hz TRUEMOTION is 240hz REAL REFRESH RATE PANEL

50HZ country like MALAYSIA model LG using MOTION CLARITY INDEX (MCI) where
400 MCI REAL REFRESH RATE PANEL is 100HZ
800 MCI REAL REFRESH RATE PANEL is 200HZ

so the CNET review is for US models probably... panel conversion varies based on countries as well, even the SPECS are different

Wah like police interrogation....haha.

1. Astro in standard definition so so only la.....like most LED tv.
2. Playing Bluray or other HD content is great. Just turn off the trumotion. If not u will get the soap opera effect.
3. My calibration i follow one of the website i found. Forgot which one. Have to search back.
4. WIFI and internet connection works well. Internet browsing quite fast. A lot of LG Apps to checkout but i usually
    watch the LG 3D world.
5. DLNA with smartphone? Doesnt work with my iphone. I can only use my phone as a remote. I think it works with
    Android devices.

Same panel with different signal processor mainly for its built-in tuner.

TruMotion 100/120hz = 60/50hz LCD refresh

TruMotion 200/240hz = 100/120hz  LCD Refresh

TruMotion 400/480hz = 200/240hz LCD Refresh
*
how to know what trumotion our LG has ? since the malaysia model just indicating refresh rate as MCI... so MCI for malaysia has different refresh rate...

trumotion 400 here is MCI 400 right.. but its not 200 LCD refresh its just 100 refresh..

I bought last year's model 55 inch LM6700 for 4800

yes snake some shops really choking customers.. they are very smart still selling old stocks but with same retail price every year... then when u nego with them they will go lower from the same retail price.. if never check with other place we might get trapped with their price...

i went to a shop bugger selling 42 LA7400 for RM4200 retail price.. then i asked for best price after few talk he said ok la ok la last price 500 less so RM3700... he said...

then i told come on bro, i can get the same TV for 3100, and 47 inch customer getting for 3400... and just 42 INCH you giving me for 3700... after 500 discount so this how you cheat customers ?

then he started to talk craps, saying oh "you must check where the model made, genuine parts or not, original sets or not, if its coming that cheap then something wrong and so on... then i asked him, what is the guaranty that your product is fantastic even you wont know the condition inside box and so on right... you condemning about other shop's product cheap, but it has same LG warranty as yours... unless he is selling without warranty or just shop warranty understandable... but why same LG warranty, same model... he can give alot cheaper than you ?

damn the shop.. how many customers get cheated with their strategy..

i already have my LM6700, manufactured FEB2013 and surprisingly the firmware is 4.10.10 which is latest compare what i saw in LG website.

Attached Image Attached Image

i do have option to off TRUMOTION, seriously i hate to watch anything with TRUMOTION on... the calibration for HD MOVIES i set to VIVID, just without TRUMOTION and for ASTRO setting under STANDARD... my ASTRO without HD.. so the picture quality not optimum, still feel my original 21inch TV much more better, probably watching small definition programs on high resolution TV... where the pixels expend.. this would be common i believe... unless i subscribe for ASTRO HD...

currently my BLURAY player HDMI connected with TV HDMI ARC, so i believe just one cable delivers AUDIO n VIDEO.. do i able to get sound if i plug in to other HDMI ports on TV ?... also ASTRO using AV cables where 1 single cable plugged behind TV which downstream 4 head connected to cables coming from ASTRO decoder... so if i have ASTRO HD.. do i just unplug all those and plug straight to HDMI port and able to see picture and listen audio ?

guys what is that component hole behind TV ?...

Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image

then i have tested my 500GB WD hardisk on the USB HDD ports and also 3RD USB ports, both able to detect the harddisk fast and can play movies without issues.. only RMVB file is having issue, playing but slowmotion.. all other files plays pretty good..

Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image

about the web browsing, since not able to do screen mirroring with my phone.. i just turn my phone to WIFI hotspot and make my TV connect wirelessly.. its succesfully connecting but browsing and streaming are slow, probably my mobile internet speed is not good enough, if direct wired connection should be ok i guess.. but sometimes i see the browser restarts saying "OUT OF MEMORY" dont know wht the heck is this... happens when stream certain videos in youtube...

other than that im happy with my TV... especially 3D... 2D convert to 3D stunning, havent test with real 3D movies yet..

how u guys do connection at the back of TV... currently my BLURAY player HDMI connected to HDMI 1(ARC)...
then my ASTRO BEYOND NON HD connected to IN AV SINGLE CABLE where downstream connected to audio video cable coming from decoder...
so what is that COMPONENT for, and also OUT OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO...

my concern is if i have ASTRO BEYOND HD, just plug the HDMI cable on HDMI 2 will do ? i can able to see picture and hear sound ? its suppose right.. because only HDMI 1 says ARC...

appreciate your input guys..

actually there r few ways...

1) from tv, connect 1 hdmi to astro beyond, 1 optical cable connect to av receiver aka amplifier.

2) from tv, connect 1 hdmi cable to av receiver aka amplifier, another hdmi cable from av receiver to astro beyond.

3) from tv, connect 1 hdmi cable to astro beyond, 1 rca cable to av receiver aka amplifier.

so u hav afew options, see which 1 is convinient 2 u...
