i just checked today on my LM6700.. the portable Western Digital HDD 500GB connect to TV USB ports.. able to read immediately.. but when connected my 1.5 TB WD 3.5 inch HDD which using power adapter.. TV never detects anything, does not play anything...

is anyone have tried the 3.5 inch HDD in ur TV ?.. even when u go to SMARTSHARE it stated anything above 2 TB, the system might not display..so i have doubt on 1 TB... how about connecting this 3.5 inch HDD to media player, does it reads it ? not very sure about it...now im thinking of getting MEDIA PLAYER.. but have doubt how if my 3.5inch HDD never detected on it..

I have checked on
WDBABZ0020BBK Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, HDMI, Composite A/V, Component video, Optical audio 2 TB NTSC
WDBACA0020BBK Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, HDMI, Composite A/V, Component video, Optical audio 2 TB PAL

looks like the video formats NTSC and PAL , the 2 type of broadcasting methods.. PAL videotapes will not work in an NTSC-calibrated VCR, or on an NTSC-calibrated TV. The reverse is also true. so im not sure OUR TV can play PAL / NTSC or not...

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-differ...tsc-and-pal.htm

but i get convinced when i review my BDP 140 PIONEER Blu-ray3D player specs, which supports Dual System (PAL/NTSC), so i connect to my HDTV can play movies.. so i believe the HDTV which ours 50Hz, PAL i guess.... tht spec says yes

BROADCASTING SYSTEM
Digital DVB-T ---------- ----- YES
PALI -------------- YES
PAL/SECAM BG --------- NO
NTSC M -------------- NO
DK --------------- NO

so malaysia using PAL format ha.... ok doubt clear...

Haven't got time to test out anything yet

I can't try MHL cause I don't have the adapter for my phone and neither do I have a 3.5" >1TB HDD.

As for miracast, I'll find out if it works with my Nexus 10....

oh NEXUS 10... great.. then MHL not necessary at all since u already can share screen via MIRACAST...

harddisk with 1tb connect from media player 2 tv is a no problem. i hav tried with my dad's tv b4...

haha bro, my silly mistake.. my 3.5inch 1.5 TB external HDD never detected by HDTV because initially was under password protection. Usually if i plug in to PC i will key in password to access the drive. When direct plug in to HDTV it never detects that, then i tried to disable that option just in a doubt.. u know what it works.. damn its detected, can access all the movie files...

ahahaha.. so silly.. so my both 500GB HDD, 1.5 TB HDD can plug together and detected without problem....

CASE CLOSED.

haha. what movies innit that needed password protection?
*
hahaha some collections of SHOKUBUTSU ***** i guess about 500 movies.. so protected the drive from unauthorized access but now since im placing it just for my HDTV.. transferred everything to another HDD..

alright the need of getting MEDIA PLAYER eliminated.. but still tempting to get WD LIVE TV HUB with 1 TB space.. cost about RM600..

Guys i have doubts guide me please, i already have ASTRO BEYOND without HD subscribed... looks like ASTRO opens few HD channels for preview limited time. My astro beyond not connected HDMI to my LG TV... but i still can view HD channels... so im wondering is it the channels work without HDMI connected ?

i thought ASTRO BEYOND HD view needs HDMI cable, but still can display without that cable.. even normal tv can view just that mine is HD TV so the quality of HD channels different...

So im wondering, once that limited preview ends.. and if i subscribe for HD package do i must use HDMI cable connected from ASTRO BEYOND DECODER to LG TV ? otherwise it doesnt works ?... but how could that be possible we can view now without the HDMI cable connected ?

That means ASTRO BEYOND HD as long you have HD TV should be ok ? then why some saying need HDMI cable other wise no display ?

tak paham...

another thing how the setup should be, when subscribe for HD package... just plug the HDMI cable from DECODER to LGTV ?.. no need those AUDIO VIDEO cable connected ?

if you look above pics.. 1st pic 1 single out put come from TV connects to 3 output AUDIO n VIDEO which comes from DECODER...yesterday i just tested connect HDMI cable and unplug those 3 AV cables if any display but nothing.... another thing i noticed HD channels as dolby digital sound...

LG TV has OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO and ASTRO DECODER has COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO.... both different cables... any chance we connect from decoder COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO cable to LGTV OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO.... i see there is some converter to do that...

but im not sure it works or not... above pics are beyond decoder behind components...

anybody can clear my doubt, appreciate it...

HELLO GUYS, LONG TIME NO SEE HOW R U ALL...

looks like forum gone too far from the day i last posted... so which is hot selling model now ha ?
i am LM6700 user... still dont have internet connection to test full capacity of my TV..

imagine only last couple of days, used my NOTE2 wireless connection to upgrade my TV software from 4.10.x something to 4.34.x... then used TV youtube pair with mobile and browsed via handphone... just activated ASTRO HD, enjoying HD sports channel by selecting HDMI input... time to time will connect HDD and watch FULLHD movies..

just wondering some movie files downloaded are 1080p but when play in TV not really FULLHD plays like 720p.. certain 1080p which is the file size is bigger really plays as FULLHD.. stretching full..another thing, which movie player LM6700 using ? how to play movie with subtitles ? I select movie from HDD ,but subtitle folder shows empty... not sure how play movie with subtitle..

then thought having wireless headset, since TV dont have headphone jack... not sure wireless headset is possible or not..
then im using NOTE 2, which has screen mirroring... but cant mirror to LM6700.. its not supporting ? LM6700 dont have MIRACAST, MHL LINK... just WIFI... so WIFI internet connection able to connect but lagging maybe my mobile internet connection is slow.

SO SIFUS... need advice...
