My budget is less than 5k, but 7600 is more than 5k. Of course, I want something cheaper if possible, tight budget, haha, spent too much on renovation liao...

I went to the electrical appliance shop in low yat today, they offer 6700 at 4500 cash price, but only 4 pairs of 3D glasses for free.
*
Just to inform you again...47LM7600 unit come with 3D camcorder is priced at RM4700 only. Heard is limited time only. Go hunting ...

Hi Xstan, thinking about getting one to replace my study room old Philips 29" CRT that been serving me since 1999 as it starts showing display problem...  Still considering if I should purchase a 47LM7600 for living room for its dual play function that I can enjoy better game view on Xbox 360 with my kids and shift the existing Samsung 46" TV to study room.... or simply to get a smaller size 32" LCD to repace the 29" CRT in the study room...

Anyway I just checked the price over past weekend that local SenQ don't carry LM model  rclxub.gif If really want, I might need to get it somewhere up north?  And the price is much more expensive over here..... doh.gif
*
As advice, dont get your stuff frm SenQ...its bloody expensive. Go try out other LG distributor electrical outlet. Go check their website for location. Than market about.

Remember, the bigger the tv size, the farther away to sit to gain optimum view. 3D wont pop up to you...its just all about depth.

After months of view, i trully enjoy its one of the best HD view ever. Top notch both 3D and 2d. However, u have to tune it. Its RICH with features for tuning. please turn off Trumotion . Most colour rich Led tv around and best slickest 3D led tv ever in the market.

I just did another Firmware update 04.10.08 just a while ago...notice they rearrange the apps. They added quite a number new apps. Kpop apps brought to MY Apps or Lg Smart Apps.

Me thinks that just added Red Bull TV. i notice it uses Android 4.1 jellybean OS, as saw it pop up when i switch or play the smart apps. Not sure about this.

No, I didn't ask the price for 55lm6700 but expect between 1k to 1.5k difference compared with 55lm7600.

Here's what I've gathered so far about lm7600 PQ. My previous tv was a panasonic plasma X series from 2 yrs back. Its picture, imho superb (Now it is my second tv) Ok, back to my observation...lm7600 PQ is good too but when the picture is dark and shadowy....I still think that the plasma is better. lm7600 tend to make everything dark but then I still haven't played around with all the controls. I still need to calibrate the lm7600.

I initially wanted to buy the panasonic 50st50k model. It is a 3d active model. But because of the "active 3d", I had to drop it. Glasses too expensive and I guess not 3d friendly. I still have small children and I guess when people drop in, with limited active 3d glasses, not many can share and enjoy the 3d experience. So, when I heard about LG passive 3d, I was sold.

Talk to you all later when I've calibrated my lm7600. I'm open to any suggestions from all LM owners about your settings. Thanks.
*
U can calibrate with the Wizard 2, while trumotion set to off. U can also use the expert calibration as given option but was not to my liking as it tend to be darker like plasma. LM is one bright & colouful led tv. Thus when watch 3D , no requirement to darken the room like the active 3D, as it bright ...very bright thus not much reflection though glossy panel. U have to calibrate it to cherish its HD glory both 3d & 2d.

Enjoy...your new toy.

Ok...I'm finally back, after my IPad claimed warranty due screen issue. Missing a lot of pages.

BTW, the bleed is not a real issue for me since I already read it long time ago before I got my LED tv. I see it's simply an expected issue for most of the LED tv. As many here has mentioned, it's obvious during dim lighted surrounding. Just cut down brightness or backlight. LG LM series is the brightest 3D tv currently.
Thus u need not need to dim room light to watch 3D like the Active 3D version.

Passive 3D has more advantage than the Active counterpart. It's comfort glass, large group to view, easy to kids eye, more wider view angle, cheap maintenance free glasses or easy to source, it's the trend, no need to dim light, close HD 1080p view and many goodies that suit particularly Asian family.
Don't listen to all the rubbish salesmen trying to influence you to switch to Active. A friend of mine almost got convince to buying an old stock Samsung Active 3D tv which SenQ trying to dispose when he is keen to get LM 6700 series. He told him that polarized 3D glass is bad for eyes particularly kids. It strain the eyes. Quote that 3D passive is no longer popular. While 3D active glasses is cheaper ...yes is cheaper now as its not compatible to newer active 3D model units. Is RM 150 per glass is cheap? It's old stock.

In the end, my pal is one very satisfied owner of LG LM 6700 unit for his room view. He is so impressed that he wants to get a larger 55' for to replace his Panny plasma unit.

I don't download files, I play my collections of bluray via 3D bluray player. Yes I got real good bargain of Ori bd from Amazon Black Friday deal.

Worry not, even the LG apps is loaded with demo 3D stuff.

OZAK, there not vast different between both models. So if u prefer watching in large screen, then go get LM6700.

Take note, 3D is not about large screen to enjoy its glory. U will not be able to jump into the screen thinking larger the screen the nearer to the real thing.

Requote back what xstan posted earlier...
Watching in 3d is really about getting deeper. Eg you notice all the end sides of the tv, its about getting deeper which trick our eyes thinking of viewing diff depth of planes hence the 3D..

But to think back, the 3D movies at cinemas seems to popped out rite?
*
Again....I repeat. Not all 3D movies are made with pop up effect. It's all about depth. It's all depends on movie or pics. I'm afraid u may be disappointed if you watch 3D movie without jumping out to you. It's similar to cinema effect but not the one you watch at theme park like in Disney or Universal studio. They were made as 4D effect with some motion master.

Here's the best 3D pop up kinda of movie worth for keep.

IMAX 3D documentary, ie Ultimate Wave ( my favorite) , Deep Sea etc Fish, wave splashing at you. Even the surfer lady assets jiggling looks so real.

Step Up 3D

Avatar 3D

Sammy Adventure 3D

Tron Legacy 3D

Madagascar 3D

Others good with depth , demo material are like Despicable Me, Guardian of Owl, Transformer etc.

Me waiting for my 3D haul at Black Friday deal, Titanic 3D and Prometheus 3D.

Style & Design - LG wins, with ultraslim bezel.

3D performance -  LG Wins ; brighter picture. More practical, cheap, light, simple passive 3D glasses (below 100 for 5 pieces).

Picture quality 3D -  Active 3d 1080p Sony wins.

But Active 3D may cause eye straint and and possibly a migrane. In Active 3D when right eye seeing image left eye sees blank, this happens at 120hz rate, the brain reconstruct the image as 3D.

In Passive 3D both eyes seeing images simultanously so its ease for the eye and brain. Passive 3D is abit like 540p + 540p, a true full HD can only be archieved with dual polarised projector setup @ true cinema.
Picture quality 2D - No clear winner, but I prefer the Sony's.  But the LG's has better brightness and black.
*
Buddy...the latest LM series 3D is 1080P + 1080P. So it's 3D is as good as Active now.

2D ...LG wins in colors and widest view angle than Sony. It's important as imagine a house watch by family more than 5. In Sony , those sat slight cinder will not enjoy its true glory.

Hi guys...many of the Q are all answered in the past post. Do read them ...it's very very useful. Some tips of calibration, some link...some feedback.

I have to say many of the new owners just left the forum after owning them as I'm pretty sure they are real satisfied with their purchase or else they make hell lots f nasty complaints.

I have to agree to some that LG LM series for 3D and HD is top notch. Top in quality. But in normal SD TV , u have to calibrate this as watching hd and sd need different calibration set up. After subscribe Astro beyond, I hardly watch SD channels. I'm into HD channels only. This TV has a lot of goodies and features.
U want free demo 3D it's load with it...but I like best is its Kpop apps. 3D of Kpop is demo material...lots of pop up.

Actually quite number I refer got from the vendor and he did delivery too. It's matter only wether u trust this 2decades old family run shop or not. Remember..LG warranty, anything LG tech do house call.

Kipla ...u get get tips from me to order Ori bd from reliable site, Amazon. PM me if anyone need help. Remember, I'm no dealer or vendor, just simply luv to share. I don't ask any in return.

Finally saw hmwong got his new toy. Congrats.

Yup...to add, I agree with Kipla the bigger the tv the clearer the pixelation particularly obvious in SD, thus why u see better 32inch quality than 47 inch. It's true. Now everything is HD.

Actually it save us $$$ on costly 3D cinema tics. Now I watch normal 2D movies in cinema while grab 3Ds bd for home rematch. It's a whole new experience. It's similar 3D concept with use of also same 3D polarized specs. biggrin.gif
