hi, i'm not sure on where to post this, this is the nearest topic i can link to..

wanna ask if anyone has year 2008 jlpt (level3) papers (possible with audio)

i usually get the papers from jlpt.biz but particularly for year 2008 (level3) the web has linked to a wrong paper, even i manage to find the paper, the pictures for the listening part is still missing.

anyone can link me or send me the paper? thanks in advance

my understanding is

gomenasai = i'm sorry

sumimasen = excuse me

although it's common people used to say sumimasen when being apologetic
an example would be if you're going to interrupt or ask someone (stranger) a question maybe, people might start with

sumimasen, , <question>
instead of
gomen, <question>

I am taking the N5 in July. Will I meet the N5 requirement by studying Minna No Nihongo Chapters 1 - 25, including doing all the exercises? Do I need to get other supplementary books? If yes, please recommend. I am also weak in listening and speaking. How can I improve?
*
relax, dont really have to worry about N5, as long as you have finished the redbook Minna no Nihongo, and the exercise, the test should be a piece of cake for you.
it would be great if you can get hold of some past year papers for N5 and try doing them.
i dont think there are many N5 papers around, you can try getting older N4 papers and do if you want to cover more past years, from there you'll be able to see the pattern of the questions, some maybe repeated questions.

try get the past years which includes the mp3 for listening part. the more u cover, the easier it will be for u during the test, or maybe that's just me =) i did at least 10 sets of papers last time.

just a tip tho..
it took me about a week to memorize all the hiragana and katakana... but reading them fluently in class can sometimes get you stucked..

what i do is.. find my favourite song, get the lyrics, get a scrap book and write the song down. i've been writing a lot of songs that i listen to oftenly, at least i can relate to what i had listen before. when i write it improves my memory on how to read and write them. also i kept learning new kanji from time to time. being an english-ed, i'm very poor when it comes to kanji. all my mandarin comes from my japanese now actually.

it worked better than i think it would. just keep on writing them. when you write, you remember them better.

you'll soon realize you can actually even read japanese subtitles laugh.gif

Just something, how do you guys learn words meaning after you mastered your kana(s)?
*
im english-ed. kana is too easy for me, but im still having problems with kanji.
the only effective way i learn them is thru reading japanese subtitles while watching anime/movie,
or read/write a bunch of lyrics. by reading, i forget them easily, so i prefer writing them down.

I am chinese-ed. So Kanji is rather easy to me.

By the way, is there any course just focusing on speaking and listening? Since I realized I need these 2 skills most rather than writing and reading.
*
im not sure about anywhere else in Malaysia, in Penang i know YMCA do give Japanese language classes where they teach only speech and listening.

book 2 is for N4, u need book 1 and basic kanji book. studying book 2 wont hurt either.

if can finish 1book, i think no problem with kana already.
