not an exact pin point location, but any shop with a darning machine should do the best. they will match the thread with the fade of ur denim, probably using a blue and white thread to replicate the warp&weft.

Hi apsidewatch, yes, please call me bob  biggrin.gif  and you all are welcome and its my pleasure to share my experiences. There are many cool sources about denim on internet like rawrdenim but if there is anything I can do for you guys please feel free to tell me  biggrin.gif

their articles are getting a lot worse these past few months. mostly its all about new releases and new brands, plus a weekly fade friday. nothing much informative about raw denim itself.. still remembered the days where they post articles on gold mining, weave and weft and train-tracks fading.

after a while knowing raw denim, the way i see it tag size is just a number.
so size 30 is smaller than size 32, but bigger than size 29. thats the basic rule within a same model (duh).

but then, it doesnt really show how big or small it is. the best way is to compare measurement rather than comparing sizes between each model and/or brands. a 31 in N&F Skinny Guy doesnt really translates to 31 to Momo/APC/ any other brands/cuts.

for starters, get your fav non-raw jeans measurement and start from there. consider some stretch for the fabric, mostly around waist, hips and thigh as that areas would stretch the most. (may vary for each denim material used by diff brands).

It will be difficult and the cut wont really went according to your guess/estimates for the first few pairs, but you will start to get the idea after a while. The spot-on cut and a very good fit you see on the internet is a result of experience they got after a few years in the scene. you would be very lucky to have a nice fit for your first pair. that or you have access to a physical store.

source: learnt my lesson with a smaller-than-expected NF Skinny Guy size 28 and a-bit-bigger size29 Imperial.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So enough ranting, i saw a few malaysians on the list competing for HWDC2 ( you know who you are). congratulations guys and all the best, it would be a long 2 years ahead.

Yea man.. you don't have to go out of your way to give some TLC for your jeans. They're a piece of clothing - they are meant to protect you, not the other way around smile.gif

One way to get super awesome fades is to not care what happens to your jeans at all. Kena mud splashes caused by cars, water splashes when you're cycling, paintball, etc - that will give your jeans true character!

btw... gonna do a wash on mine sometimes this week because forecasts say this week got sun biggrin.gif can wash and dry quickly

haha winter is coming my friend, better get it done quickly.too bad both of my pairs just got their wash in early january and march, another wash would be too early. im waiting for a sunny day in april.

HC-SF-108, I'm wearing 17oz SF-010 CheeseDenim. The fabric is outsourced from Okayama mills and made in Malaysia. Click on the picture for bigger resolutions.

cheese leather patch for my pair.

Chainstiched hem, 33 inch. They only offer up to 36 inch inseam. Ordered for a 32 inseam but end up with a 33, had to resort for triple cuff

Fit Pic, pardon for the camera works, especially for the blurry side fit pics. but you got the idea. Feels really like a cardboard

Hey hey, cheese looks promising. Attention to detail is certainly to a level higher than expected! Is it a Malaysian production? Let us know how it goes smile.gif

And to all my bros who purchase plenty of denim - are N&F pretty cheap? How much are they usually where you guys get them? $100? $150? $200? $300?

A friend may be trying to negotiate to get :

What price point would you be comfortable purchasing these in?
*
as for what i've been told, it is made in malaysia entirely other than the fabric and hardware.

I bought a pair of Skinny-Guy Broken Twill Selvedge for RM300 after a 50% discount. Back then when i just started for my first pair of raw, a RM600 tag price is a very steep move for me. Now? RM600 is still not worth it for their level of attention to the details. better save and get Railcar/MomoxJB/3Sixteen.

The plain regular model shouldnt be priced at a premium. Their unique runs however could push the price higher ie; glow in the dark, hemp blend, 32oz, silk, metal.

what's ur budget? game up dude.. try japan blue if u could not afford momotaro. n&f and japan blue doesnt differ much in price with the greater quality they offer. smile.gif

i would really recommend everyone to go to either the backyard, the off day, or nusantaradenim in the particular order. get the feel of how a quality raw denim should feel, slubbiness, attention to details and neat stitching.

well, if u really just looking for a quality pair of jeans without paying ridiculous price then you got the perfect brand. but again, try one up ur previous brand.

So would it be possible to pick up a pair of raw selvedge on a budget? Or does it all range in high the prices? Usually spend about RM200-300 on a pair but I don't think those are selvedge and definitely not raw.

there's an article for cheap raw denim http://www.rawrdenim.com/2013/01/7-pairs-o...en-100-and-200/. my advice, save a bit more for momoxjb.
