All stock except the GPU is AMD 7970m...Upgrading it to 120GB SSD(corsair) and putting in a drive caddy for the primary drive that comes with it by myself..im ordering it from illegear(PrinceJ).

ICD keep the temps very cool when the laptop is under heavy load...however the downside is the ICD compound can scratch your CPU or GPU..i've use ICD on my old HP laptop..great temps on my CPU it never go over 71C..the trade off is when I want to reapply again I have to clear the residue..after doing that i find scratches on the CPU..but because of these temps i don mind at all about the scratches. In short, in MY opinion, its really worth it.

Already did bro and i already post my 3D mark scores love the turbo boost function for the fan too.

Just as PrinceJ said in the earlier threads it took about 7 to 14 days, mine took about 13 days. The fan noise level of course is loud when turbo boost however it is quiet when you do not use the turbo boost if your doing light tasks(surfing web, MS Office, etc)

Chaooz try to download MSI Kombustor it will force activate the Nvidia card thus showing it in CPUID..however mine is showing the intel HD4000 graphic but its actually the 7970m temps.

Hey Bro its worth it for the time being to get the GTX680m..because the AMD 7970m Enduro(Switchable graphics technology) problem is still not fix yet..the GPU utilization for me never go above 65%~70% when playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer(since you said you're a heavy gamer I assume this as an intensive game or to give you an idea of how big an impact it has) even if i lower the settings it lower the utilization thus i could not maintain 60 FPS.. 60fps is the minimum for me to play battlefield 3 multiplayer competitively..and this is happening to almost all of the games release...with the exception of Metro 2033(99% utilized)

So my advise for is you is to get the GTX680m if you want a hassle-free, out of the box-working laptop.

For General Info:
BARE in mind that the issues(7970m enduro) has existed since 3 months ago..till now there is no solution to fix the enduro issue..however i might add that many of the users at notebookreview.com manage to get the attention of famous technology blogging sites to spread the issue further in order to make AMD acknowledge the issue exist and thus they are now currently investigating it. That is the current situation.

Don't get me wrong the 7970m is a powerful card..its a freaking downclock desktop AMD 7870(only around 11~15% downclock)..so I know that this mobile card(7970m) has no problem in maxing out any games currently..only problem is enduro is holding it back. Alienware knew that this would be an issue so they design their laptops to have a hardware mux that bypass enduro allowing the card to be fully utilized(99%).

Personally if i still have the option to switch to the GTX680m I would.

well thats good for you then but not for me I basically have the same symptoms with almost all of the users in NBR who owns the same clevo 7970m card as me...Anyway my post earlier was about the BF3 Multiplayer (PREMIUM VERSION). BF3 single player is of course running at 99% MOST of the time however I do get lower utilization when playing multiplayer. By the way if you have the time can you please try to lower your settings to medium or low settings to see if you gain any significant increase in FPS especially in BF3 multiplayer cause I don't see any increase at all just lower utilization.

wow thats good news for you and really bad news for me and the rest of the ppl who owns the 7970m from Sager..=.='' I hope AMD solve it soon since they are investigating it.

And yes its really lags..cant shoot properly.

The 12.11 beta 3 only sees improvement on DX11 titles. DX9 support will come in the official 12.11 drivers. Which is true for Prototype 2 since its running in DX9 mode..however im not sure Why NFS the Run have the utilization issue though it could be because the game is capped at 30FPS since it was a console ported to PC unless of course there is an update to the game for the PC version to unlock the Frame rate.
