Hey guys, I'm not a Sager/Clevo onwer but wish to be one someday in the near future. If everything goes well, I'll be getting one this coming October. And if I'm not mistaken, the sound quality through headphones in NP9150 isn't good enough for most people. Are there any fixes for the lack of bass when using the headphone jack? I saw a post somewhere, in another forum, installing THX and changing some setting worked, anyone tried before?
*
Hi ssassassa,

Understood your concern of sound quality.

The NP9150 is using on-board sound system. You are advised to purchase an usb sound card for better sound quality.

was about to place an order on NP9150 from Illegear when I realized the free memory and hdd offer has already ended this evening (it was still there yesterday night).

And with the spec I want I have to pay extra RM 500 to RM 600 sweat.gif .

Am rethinking of getting it now...
Guys.. regarding Xoticpc.. what made you (for those who opt to buy from them) decide to get your lappy from them instead of going with illegear.
*
Hi Phantom Renegade,

Sorry of hearing that actually.

We just received the latest dealer price list yesterday and found that Sager increased the price of 7970M and GTX680M by about USD50~100, and also few increment on HDD and RAM prices. Although they are offering $100 discounts for orders exceeding certain amount, but actually this leads to slightly higher total price even though it looks like some sort of promotional discount offer.

Totally understood how you felt as a consumer. Therefore, I have send you an email that we can offer you the previous promotion (free HDD and RAM upgrades) and prices. Do let us know how you think.

I made an interesting discovery today. Asus and Clevo charger heads are actually interchangeable.
*
Yeah, the PSU of NP9150/NP9130 are pretty common. You can actually purchase the replacement adapter everywhere as long as the voltage is the same.

However, for NP9170, the head of the PSU (220W) is very rare. hmm.gif

I'm still very tickled they supplied the 150W adapter for my NP6110. laugh.gif

That's more than enough for a NP6110, even with 120W adapter biggrin.gif

But what attract me most is the 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7 3920XM Overclocked Turbo Boost to 4.1GHz and 16gb SDRM 1866Mhz on Alienware
whereby NP9370 don't have it =`(

We will be offering Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz RAM on Sager.

RAID is for what and what about mSATA SSD Drive — For Intel Smart Response Technology?
*
some info easily access to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID
------------------------------------------------------
msata is a new sata port mainly used in ultrabook industry for extremely small SSD.

Intel SRT means that caching your hard disk drive with the msata ssd, this technology is similar to Hybrid drive.

But nowadays msata ssd is so strong yet so cheap, so basically Intel SRT is not very famous.

The fan sizes are the same. There are two heat sinks (total 3 heat pipes) on GPU side due to large area of coverage, CPU has only 1 heat sink with 2 heat pipes. So the CPU air flow is obviously different.

So, when can we see the GTX 670MX and GTX 675MX?
Performance by right should increase.
But will it cost the same?
*
They are Kepler base, the price is more expensive than M version.

So we shall expect price increase on NP9130. NP9150 and NP9170.

In NP6110 your spec is maximized.

You need to get other machines to get better performance.

Hi fellas, anyone experiencing from freezes due to the event id 9 (iaStor) not responding? I was working on my codes and suddenly my notebook freezes up and not responding. I waited for few minutes (run to toilet and make cup of coffee) and return back it still freeze. The only way is to hard shutdown it. Take a look at the event viewer and it says that the iastor is the culprit. Any way to work around this or i need to start into looking for harddisk replacement?

anyone have a guide how too optimise SSD performance?
*
Most SSDs have been tuned before shipping out, I would suggest to use the factory default firmware to enhance the stability. Most of the users do not notice much speed difference.
What SSD you are using by the way?

What hdd you are using by the way? There are HDD diagnosis tools on vendors' site, did you try those?

I wont say its fully resolved though. The new drivers are unstable as hell. I got BSOD few times already at startup.

Hi ssassassa9,

We did test the driver (CATALYST BETA 12.11) and no BSOD at all. Did you try a clean installation?

Prince J, do you mind testing games on the new 12.11 beta drivers? So far I only see improvements on BF3 and Metro. No luck for nfs and L.A. Noire

My tech did some testing for the 12.11 beta driver. We see lot of improvement in games, didn't test NFS run though.

hi guys....i'm plannig to get one of the sager laptop maybe np9150 or np9370..my budget less or equal 7k..i'm now totally confused in upgrading either 7970m or gtx 680m and either stock hdd or stock hdd + 128 ssd?which one i should upgrade first.whether 7970m + stock hdd + 128ssd or choose gtx 680m + stock hdd...i cannot take both gtx 680m + stock hdd + ssd as it is over my budget..any suggestion here really appreciate.
A 7k budget can get you a very decent machine at top performance. In my opinion, NP9150, NP9170 and NP9370 are all nice picks.
I would recommend the Crucial M4 mSATA 128GB SSD and the 1TB HDD. A DVD drive isn't necessary but sometimes it's kinda suffer when you want to load something from the DVD but wait...no DVD ROM, not sure is there anyone else experienced the same as me? The Crucial M4 mSATA is almost on a par with the 2.5 inch M4, why leave your msata slot empty? smile.gif
