Damn, anyone else facing issue from downloading from direct download sites?

Also, how do I go about using my own router for FTTH? I saw this thread
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2384890

but it seems like it's for VDSL setup only.

Anyone shed some light on this please.

Guys, to be honest, how is the performance of the Thompson router, apart from Wireless performance.

I looked at the hardware spec, seems to have huge amount of RAM. Like can it take constant torrenting?

Guys, while trying to add the DNS as per the instruction on the first page, I accidentaly cleared all the router DNS including those for VOIP and IPTV.

Can anyone do a "dns server route list" check for me and paste the result here so that I can add those DNS back to the router via telnet?

Thanks!

more bout Maxis IPTV,

well, I call and talk to Maxis CS regards IPTV, I hv also ask Maxis reseller bout IPTV
both of them told by Maxis do not give any confirmation to IPTV
this is what both of them seem to agreed...

1) Maxis will hv uninterrupt IPTV service, this seem like dedicated bandwidth
-> FYI, your VoIP is already hv a dedicated bandwidth... so IPTV is possible too
2) Bad news, Maxis IPTV Box will come in free but it required u to sign a 24months contract
-> Minimal packages is less than RM50...  cry.gif Hopefully this is not true
3) Ananda Krishnan is selling Maxis. Note this is Maxis not Astro.
-> Those who wish Maxis IPTV to get some of Astro exclusive channel ESPN & WLT. Better give up now.

I will really piss if Maxis gonna ask me to sign another contract.... FCUK!!

If they want this service to have huge market penetration, they need to be ready to give free tv box and free trials

they have test run, but non of us is involved...  unsure.gif
they are separate product to begin with... same like Unifi and HyppTV.
in this case, they just make use of same devices...
hence there is a possibility we can get HyppTV too  icon_rolleyes.gif but the IPTVBox is not rclxub.gif  doh.gif

Then none of us will sign up for it la

Guy , one question....
If LTE launch next year with 100mbps...
How this going to be compare with FTTH as the speed just 10mbps!!!
Isnt this LTE is far way better and cheap compare to FTTH if both cap at same amount of quota?
*
Lte theoretical speed can hit 100mbps doesn't mean they will give you that speed. Ftth can carry speed up to 100terabits per second doesn't mean they deliver all to you. International pipe mahal

LOL....I will send email blast to all those who register through me once I get the vouchers. Most probably have a few 'Open Day' and set up counter in strategic locations for voucher collection....

Tentatively, it will be end of this month (august).

Understand that there are quite some hiccups here and there. But what I'm sure is that Maxis is committed to delivering the best in terms of product quality and customer experience. There are currently alot of on-going works in order to improve the whole experience to all the FTTH customers.

Friend, I have a suggestion, on the day you want to have 'Open Day', why not you get all of us together who signed up under you, and you invite the rest of the management team to join you, and we sit down on one place and hear from us what we have to say about Maxis FTTH. Tell your management team, these are IT savvy users who have technical knowledge. Let us have a conference/forum for us to explain to your management team in person all our predicaments so that they know, and start to do something about it.

Mind explain how do you do that?

Most DECT phones, if not all are GAP compliant already, basically you need to use the handset to 'register new base' and hold the 'echo' button on the base that you want to connect to continuously until you hear a beep.
