no, we specifically asked to use back the number on Maxis. The sales person wrote that on the application letter too.
smart bugger now quit the company ady...dammit.
*
you are too stupid to believe that!
where the hell in the world for landline, that if u switch from provider A to B, u can still use the old no unless u keep both A & B! doh.gif

QUOTE(gogetter83 @ Jul 18 2012, 11:55 AM)
i don't think that's possible, that number is owned by TM, how to transfer to Maxis? That works for mobile, never heard such a thing for landline...that guy bullshit you
*
agree

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Jul 18 2012, 12:25 PM)
Unifi also cannot though recently one salesperson said can...same excuse as the Maxis guy - "for a small fee of RM20, you can retain your old number" so I dunno can trust or not.
*
see, even unifi also cannot, maxis want to let u use back the TM's no? that is the craziest thing that maxis or other provider will do.. shakehead.gif

Actually "CAN". I've "done" that.  whistling.gif
All Unifi and MHF agent has ready answer for this most frequently asked question "Can I retain my existing TM number ?"

Instead of saying "CAN NOT", they TWISTED THE WORDS and say "Can retain but need to pay RM26". Sounds better to lure you to signup immediately right ?

Only if you ask him further "RM26 is one time payment ?" Then he will tell you that you need to pay RM26 every month. Yet he still doesn't reveal to you that you are actually keeping you existing TM line with the standard monthly rental of RM26.

I still haven't cancel my TM home line, that's why I said "CAN RETAIN". tongue.gif
*
this 1 looks more like CAN the no..
hahaha..
i retained both my TM line..
now have 3 numbers..
streamyx still have..

Same here. affected only one of my two PCs using USB Wifi adapter. I think is channel problem but I solved the problem with the switching the USB Wifi adapters between the two PCs. LAN and Wifi for mobile devices no problem.
The affected USB Wifi adapter can connect to wifi when plugged into the switched PC. weird  hmm.gif

mine all not working..laptops, mobile phones, tablets..

QUOTE(mackioes @ Jul 27 2012, 01:23 AM)
Meaning more cabling? What cable is that call? The optic cable ones? That I can consider as it is more flexible then the white fibre line as the tm contractor told me. Maybe by using that cable I can extend downstairs haha. Coz my house Susah a lot corners that's why have to Pasang upstairs.
*
RJ11 = telephone cable
RJ45 = ethernet cable

the 1 that he's referring to more cabling is use longer rj45 cable from BTU/ONU --> thompson or longer rj11 from thompson -->dect phone.

QUOTE(mackioes @ Jul 27 2012, 01:28 AM)
I don't get why people still wan home plug, currently there's so many reliable multi function routers which can perform better that is cheaper than this overprice home plug that I ve read had many problem overheat and does not last long issues.
*
home plug = lesser longer cabling needed = lesser mess in the house.
some prefer that. i dont like home plug coz bloody expensive and cn get >100m of rj45 with the home plug price.

(depends on individual's thinking)

QUOTE(jssc @ Jul 27 2012, 08:17 AM)
For me. Repeater is just flexible but not reliable. And also every trouble. home plug is more reliable and stable.
*
depends on individual's perception

seriously did u consider to go maxis center (KLCC) complaint kaw-kaw ask them to terminate your account without the forfeit RM118 x the less of 24months... hmm.gif
then u can apply unifi or other BB service. nod.gif
*
now the early terminastiion fee is Rm500 only (same as unifi).
go n chk the FAQ page

The thompson's wireless sux..
i disabled it n use my modem wifi router to transmit wireless to handheld devices..
but need to use static IP, DNS & gateway..
so in the end, i configure for all to be static

The installer say u stick the thomson modem (打直) to the wall then signal will be better.

I just get my maxis home installed just now, done at 30/7/2012 12:30pm

bro

is this the 1st time you replace? if not, i would advice you to call the CS and specifically put in the case report that the router had been changed before and yet got problem

Note : If i feel something is important, i will ask the CS to write down word by word what I said. I don't give the CS the chance to interpret what they think is the situation and use their own words to describe

eg there is once i ask the CS to write down "Maxis has broken their promises to me 10 times already"

and yeah, later i check really there.  rclxms.gif And i can tell you, i get privilege service after that
*
i complaint so many time ald..
if for postpaid service ald have that privillage..
waiting for home to be part of that privillage as well
