But, what is the proper pronunciation in Mandarin and Cantonese. They say it like that because they already use to that pronunciation. So the correct pronunciation will sound weird.

So the fact here is, it is misleading.

Now, that is another matter about the society.
Stick with the norm or you will be freak.
No, stick with the fact and you will be the boss.
