In Cantonese.
In below 2 Cantonese words, how you pronounce it when you address them(your mother's sister's husband)?
Dont mind the meaning, pronunciation matters only

姨丈

or

二丈

?

For the last 15 years. I called them 二丈.

i called my mom's second elder sister 姨妈(二妈Pronounce in Conto) her husband 姨丈(二丈)

single word 姨 = yì (fourth sound in mandarin)
but this word come to 姨妈 = yǐ mà (yǐ which is same pronounce as 二)

if you wan to read as yì mà then sounds quite weird lol
but 姨丈 read as yì jíong is ok wor

But, what is the proper pronunciation in Mandarin and Cantonese. They say it like that because they already use to that pronunciation. So the correct pronunciation will sound weird.

So the fact here is, it is misleading.
