Try checkup paultan.org. Golf gti just increased rm34k and same spec. No typo here. 3k is nothing as their sonata, tucson,i10 also increase price b4.

Any owner here replaced their stock spring with the "lowering Spring" ?

I am interest to get it installed but need some advises.

Most of these spring shorter than stock by 30mm ~ 35mm.

Hope someone here can give some advises on the pros and cons.

haha actually i can afford to wait a couple of months. Anyway, probably not cancelling it. "Resale value" is not one of the major decision factors.  smile.gif
But if they reveal a facelift version with 6 airbags, auto-folding side mirrors, full taillights, and additional bells & whistles in Q1 2013 then i'd definitely bang my jewels hard.  mad.gif

*
This will never happen. Look at the Tucson. No power fold mirror after so long. Look at other brands, have they added airbags for their 1.8?? I u buy 2.0 and pay extra 20k will have extra airbag.

if u really need a car now, dun cancel, if u buy also for the sake of reselling it in future, think twice  cool2.gif  cool2.gif

This is like buying a Hp, especially a Samsung. Every few months out with new model. If u worry about depreciation, might as well never buy it. Just go buy property.
Moreover in my past exp, even though mentioned waiting period 3-4mths, but can normally get after 2 mths. Unless Korea tsunami.... Choi choi!

Not the difference between a new car 96,888 and this is just 2.5K smile.gif

Smart way to mislead ppl into thinking got huge discount. LoL!

Thought u got other form of rebate? I got even lesser. No choice it's like buying tv/phone. The longer u wait the cheaper. But I think the 2/3k price increased dy. so u r lucky.

can any proud owner please publish their fuel consumption? I eager to know bout that.
My wife owns a forte and its FC is dissapointing, I hope Elantra is better.
*
Last weekend go back hometown NS highway constant speed 119km/h, FC is 7.0L/100km. Others posted FC to be 5.5+L/100km if constant speed is 90km/h
KL > Cheras > KL city driving daily, FC is 10.6L/100km
Mine is 1.8 engine. 1.6 can only get better

It's funny because i got a recommended contact to SA from someone, he said call and say 'mr.xxx recommend one' can get RM2k discount. then i called really got 2k discount from the SA.

but when i my friend call to the same SA, he get RM2.5k discount after negotiating, without mentioning mr.xxx

I guess is, mr.xxx make a deal with the SA, whenever he recommend someone, he pocket RM500 commission smile.gif
*
Hehe. Then definitely not me. I single sen also don't get. Just ask around so many ppl I already referred. I also know others got commission.

Highway driving favors above 1.6cc

so how also 1.6 above in city driving more makan minyak than 1.5cc below

Aiyo this topic discuss till death dy. no miracle cure for FC if drive in city. Only way is to get hybrid. My ex ex car vios also can get 600km full tank. No more such story dy. cars getting bigger and heavier. New vios also cannot reach this dy unless highway.

If it is 10.6L/KM then it is still acceptable. The forte can only get about 350KM full tank(45 L) city drive.
Ouch, that is what my wife Forte FC.
For those who said it is about driving habit, I really doubt about that. I test my wife Forte myself and still the result is about the same. As for me, I usually hit 500KM/40L on my old vios. So it is not much about heavy leg.
*
Let's put it this way. Last time perception is, Korea car suck fuel like water. Toyota very save fuel. Now I can confirm, elantra FC on par with altis. Consider very good dy, no?

It is a myth. New car nowadays, the engine has already been broken in from factory. If you refer to user manual, it only advise you to drive moderately in the 1st 1000km and the reason is to let the parts break in (eg: brake, transmission).

I would say neither I am the expert nor most of the guys here. I believe it is the best to just follow what stated in the user manual, wish is to drive the car within 2k rpm - 4k rpm, don't race the engine, don't do hard braking for 1st 1000km to protect the new car.

Added on July 19, 2012, 9:06 amBTW, I feel that the 1.8 is very sensitive to your right foot. Once you step more, or let the RPM rises above 2.5k rpm, the fuel consumption will shoot up. It also not particularly fuel efficient also when driving at very low speed, <40kmh. Since 1.8 is quite rev friendly (thanks to the new aluminium engine and efficient 6 speed G/box), you have to control your right feet very well to achieve <9L / 100km in city driving.

Highway is another story, I can easily achieve 6.2L/100km, 110kmh constant before 1st service.

Again, don't expect miracle in city driving. Only hybrid or very low cc car can be efficient in city driving.

up to own taste. = agree with you
Feature wise, Forte wins .... = what feature does forte wins? huh..
Engine wise, HE wins..... = sure..
Safety wise, Forte wins..... = agree cause of extra air bags
Quietness wise, i think both are equals.... = HE wins hand down...forte cabin noise eventhough <1month usage
Quality wise, CKD vs SKD.... = so HE wins on this
Pricing wise, Forte wins..... = agree with you
FC wise, i think both won't be different much... = agree
Test drive both models....Elantra 1.8P with Forte 2.0 SX Koup(this is not apple to apple...2dr vs 4 dr), while Elantra 1.6HS with Forte 1.6SX/2.0SX Sedan ....follow price range, and compare apple with apple please, not apple with orange...after test drive, then see which 1 u like more, follow ur heart...

Fully agree for NVH, HE win hands down.
Don't agree with FC. Forte old engine while HE new dual cvvt. HE should be better.
Just compare old Toyota vvti and new dual vvti engine. New engine FC win hands down.

i dun wan to fight as this is HE's thread.....but all i can say is my 1.6Forte 4 spd can go up to 430km per full tank full city drive, using RON95 esso/bhp/caltex
feature is included safety .....that's y i said forte wins...same goes with extras in KOUP....
i knw is 4 doors vs 2 doors in Elantra 1.8P vs Forte Koup, but i was refering to C-segment vs C-segment, not C-segment vs B/D-segment....that's wat i mean in apple vs apple, orange vs orange.....as alot of ppl like to compare Forte vs VIOS/CITY when i m in Forte Club....that's call apple vs orange...
The CONS of HE 1.8P is the waiting period super long as a SKD model...the interesting part i see in HE 1.8P is electric driver seat and rain sensor...nothing else...
