Got and email from HopShopGo, it seems that Google does not allow shipping to HopShopGo so they had arrange to have it to another address and now redirecting back to HopShopGo and it should arrive anytime now. smile.gif which is why the delay, looks like many people are using shipforme and buyforme services.

Anyone knows who handles USPS shipments to Malaysia? Mine status says Clearance Delay since 8am!

I never like USPS as they will pass the shipment to Post Laju. Clearance delay usually meant "TAX" sad.gif. Hopefully not so.

Yes you purchase it so they ship to that address, I use buyforme so that maybe an issue. Well hopefully I get it soon. I also preorder a Nexus Q. Wondering when they ship that.

Just got mine, and I agree about the box. The initial stage (the part where you have to slide it out) requires a power level of 9000+.... Seriously, you can enter that box in some sort of World's Strongest Man competition. >_<

Anyways, I just spent the last hour setting it up. First I examined all the edges, the glass the micro-usb port, the glass again, the back ..etc.

then set up my account, downloaded all my apps. Then did a dead pixel test. Then tested the navigation.. accelerometer seems to be working good, though I need to confirm later with some games.

No problems so far. Touch wood. Currently charging the bugger. Gonna try out more after a full charge.

First impressions:
It's built quite well. The back is lovely. The voice assistant for UK-English sucks. He's some cocky sounding guy, damn arrogant. Like those Earl's of Buckingham palace or something. The type of personality you definitely want to bash with a hammer in real life. . Change to the US English version for the sexy girl. Much better, although the stupid Americans still cannot spell "tyre" and "colour" correctly >_>

No $25 free credit or Transformers or books (there's no big media widget like in the reviews), which was to be expected, but I don't really care about that.

Oh, yeah, the thing is fast. Jelly Bean itself isn't really that new to me since I already have a Galaxy Nexus, but the apps all open faster on this Nexus 7 thanks to the faster processor, probably. I only had a bit of lag the first time Google+ was synching after the 4.1.1 update.

Don't plan to root it just yet. will see how it runs for a week or two.

WOW n I have to wait another 7 to 10 days for mine to come sad.gif

Its still cheaper than other quad core tablet. Even after taxed by dealers.
Frankly speaking first gen android tablet are based on tegra 2, which is a sad failure.

Samsung tab 7.7 is exynos which is great but slow update.
And expensive. And bloated wit touch wiz.

Asus transformer 300, prime, and infinity are good, wit the keyboard combo its excellent, but the price is insane. Close to 2k.

So I wouldn't complain bout the nexus 7 price.
Same performance at a smaller size.

Nice to hold and carry around.

Added on August 3, 2012, 7:39 ampreviously i Said that all Chinese words appear as "?"

I am mistaken.
The files are copied from pen drive using USB otg, so the words got converted to ??
Nexus itself is able to type n read both modern n traditional Chinese.

Added on August 3, 2012, 8:12 amWhile looking for casing in garage sales,
I saw this thread http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...0845&hl=nexus+7

Impressive. So much ready stock for nexus 7, no need to wait.
Price same as preorder too.
Maybe extra abit, but no need to wait n direct cod is quite good.

Oh well that the story of my life, I actually Pre-Order via BuyForMe then cancel the order 30 minutes later as I saw those in Ebay where I can get stock immediately. What to do ...

Yup it is so sexy ... so much so that it most likely will be "a decoration unit".
NO REMOTE where as my Apple TV comes with a Remote. I have to use the Nexus 7 to setup the Nexus Q and I have to upload my songs and movie to my Google Play accounts. Where as on the Apple TV I can at least stream from my iTune PC. I need the Nexus 7 or other Android device to control the Nexus Q shocking.gif

Currently it is thumbs down for the Nexus Q, I would take the Apple TV 2 anytime.

Lets see what I can learn in the next few hours.

Updated - and the Nexus Q Apps I cannot see on my S3 play store. It maybe only be available for Jelly Bean OS this I have to confirm later.

Hi,

Copied 720p mkv files to the Nexus 7 and played with MX player got video but no audio. I have to turn Software decoding for Audio then only can hear the movie. Video is smooth and the screen is not that bad, I would not say it is a complete washout.

try diceplayer.

A friend had the same problem with MX Player with ICS on HTC One X, diceplayer solved the issue.

there's a very very frustrating issue with nexus 7, or maybe its jelly bean fault.

quite alot of apps listed not compatible in play store.
but there are definitely running fine after i sideload them.

at first i thought is due to the dpi change.
but i restore back to stock dpi also listed as not compatible.

here's a list of stuff listed as not compatible.
~astro file manager
~notification volume
~shoot the zombirds
~dice player
~androzip

i have to use my phone to download,
use astro file manager to make an apk of the file,
upload to google drive, and install from google drive in my tablet.

why not use bluetooth? because cant transfer apk by bluetooth
everytime try sure fail.

maybe google forcing us to use google drive. sweat....

by the way, all listed app working perfectly after install.
there really is no reason to list them as not compatible.
*
Strange I can install diceplayer, astro file manager and androzip on my Nexus. I had upgraded to 4.1.1 OTA.

Downloading shoot the zombirds now.

I'm also 4.1.1 ota.

Stock ROM and kernel.
Rooted and DPI change using ROM manager,

Even after I restore back to stock DPI, still can't download.
U using us play store?
*
Nope, I had VPN turn off so it should be local Play Store and I had just reset to factory default 3 times trying to claim my USD25/= but still failed. vmad.gif
