QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jun 26 2012, 12:42 PM) I'll buy it on day 1 if they make a total war game on china dynaties. Had hoped that they will do China since ages ago - don't understand if there's a conflict to depict China dynasties or they just not interested with China history games? It is really a pity that Koei's Three Kingdoms series are usually very limited to the China/Jap players as well. @TS: Rome II would be fun to have but do hope they will mix in new game modes/plays (like allowing you to going into first-person mode in battle as the general/King to wreck havor (or to run/hide away) or a bit more customization/variation to the units build tree besides the simplified blacksmith/armorer enhancement). Far-fetched but who say I can't dream, eh?

QUOTE(aliesterfiend @ Jun 26 2012, 02:54 PM) I think because of their market is mainly US and Europe. But for a TW games I think this will do to generate sales with Chinese market (if they don't crack the game lah ... ) Depends on the time period I guess. I'm already sick to the death of Rome era starting 280-270 bc. LoL - I think quite a lot of US/EU people wouldn't mind whether it is about Chinese dynasties or Japanese shogunates, many just want to conquer the world I don't mind the era but it will be boring if it ends up being the same story/units/game play with only shinier graphics. QUOTE(nipaa1412 @ Jun 26 2012, 03:00 PM) Screw 3 kingdoms. Give me the full glory of the Warring States(or Spring and Autumn) period of China! As long they (preferably some big/trust-worthy company) willing to kick start the China storyline, I am willing to throw in money for it. 3KD, Warring States, anything. Just something fresh preferably.

QUOTE(MrUbikeledek @ Jun 26 2012, 03:36 PM) I love Empire total war, at least conceptually. Too bad they botched that one so bad. Of all Total Wars, it is only Empire that I never played. Something bout the naval/EU empires that I am not clicking with - probably too much guns and cannons for me.

QUOTE(Binaryteo @ Jul 4 2012, 07:43 AM) Rome 2 set to release in 2013, yet to announce which quarter. Sources: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Total-War...ease-44184.htmlhttp://www.pcgamer.com/2012/07/03/total-wa...al-rumpy-pumpy/http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/02/total-wa...-to-pc-in-2013//offtopic Yea, saw someone talked about ancient chinese dynasty. I think it would fit the total war series perfectly since chinese warfare is usually known for quantity. Sad enough, I think its a risky business decision for CA since most ang moh kids are not very receptive of an asian theme game. I thought Shogun is Asian? Haha, I think the Chinese dynasties would be a great theme to be frank - unique/basic units, rise/fall of countries, generals, etc. - China have almost all of them. If Creative is worried, they can easily do a survey via FB for their next game as well, I would definitely enjoy the bit of fresh air *Disclaimer: I do like Rome/Medieval theme as well, in case Rome 2 fans wanna whack me.

QUOTE(nipaa1412 @ Jul 4 2012, 10:08 AM) If they did Chinese dynasties, I only fear the most is their historical accuracy. Westerners usually have their Chinese history haywire If they can pick up the history book on Japan and do Shogun, I would assume that it shouldn't matter much to do China, no? Unless China have re-written all their history to the point that nothing is accurate anymore.

QUOTE(aliesterfiend @ Jul 4 2012, 10:54 AM) we can hope for a chinese dynasty after rome ii and dlc/expansions. say in 2015 at least ? As long it don't turn out to be a 10 years wait for a real-life bidding/trading game, I wouldn't mind the wait. QUOTE(nipaa1412 @ Jul 4 2012, 11:06 AM) I suppose they could but I am skeptical. For example, there are some games where you are in Ming Dynasty but you wear a Manchu attire Haha, I am not capable enough to differentiate the attires but I do have confidence that Creative artists are not that incapable in researching on what they need to draw If they actually failed to Google the proper attire for a specific dynasty, then they really deserve a smack in the head.

If they give out a figurine as how Shogun 2 did, and they make it a legionnaire figurine in full armor - pre-order CE for me.

QUOTE(Eiensakura @ Jul 9 2012, 11:50 AM) Total War memang all the while that price range one. Guess that I am a little too used to Steam/promotional pricing - still plenty of time before 2013, I gonna keep my eyes out for more promotion news *fingers crossed for more goodies like Borderlands 2 CE. Also something to read bout Rome 2: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE Creative Assembly has announced that the next game in its Total War strategy wargame series will be a return to Rome, and will feature a "darker vision of war".
The Total War series has long been a favourite among strategy gamers for the way that it blends epic real-time battles with Risk-style strategy on a vast campaign map. The original Rome is often considered the highlight of the series, so a sequel has been much-requested by fans.
At the Rezzed videogames show in Brighton, Creative Assembly's lead designer James Russell detailed the history of the British studio and outlined what to expect from Rome's sequel.
"We really want players to make human-level decisions on the battlefield," he said. "Close up, we want the men to feel more human. We've got facial animations, emotional reactions between men. It's about a darker vision of war, we want the combat to feel darker, more visceral."
Russell outlined how the scope of the game would be expanded, too. For the first time in a Total War game, players will be able to use boats and units in a single battle, complete with ship-mounted artillery and soldiers jumping from landing craft. He showed off a scene from the siege of Carthage, with Roman troops storming up a beach under fire from arrows and artillery, like an ancient recreation of the D-Day landings.
Elsewhere, there'll be huge cities with multiple capture points and an expanded campaign map. Russell declined to be specific about exactly how it would be expanded, but said that it would stretch further east. He also expressed interest in releasing educational versions of the studio's games with lower age ratings.
"Rome 2 is the game that our playerbase really want us to make, and it's the game that we want to make," he said. As for dealing with other periods in history, he said: "We haven't rejected anything. We have a stack of ideas for different eras we want to cover. Some of those might be more challenging than others."

QUOTE(aliesterfiend @ Jul 9 2012, 12:24 PM) If I'm not mistaken since Rome I all standard edition game cost MYR 149 while expansion around MYR 109. I bought ETW SF Edition at MYR 210 kalau tak salah. Shogun II with Hattori cost MYR 159 kot. Didn't buy retail for FOTS. Bought online for USD 17. Bought mine (Shogun 2 + RotS + packs) during previous Amazon promotion for USD15 (I think) and nearly bought FotS in recent Amazon promotion for USD8. Decided to wait for Steam summer (whenever it is) cause I haven't even complete my RotS yet. Plus, I don't really like guns, think it is a little too overpowered to be fun. Regret not getting the CE for Shogun 2 though, the figurine turned much better than what I thought.

Just wondering, how is the game fairing for the owners/players here? I am keen to buy this during incoming sales but I wonder if all the patchings are sufficient to fix or smoothen the game so far?

QUOTE(fujkenasai @ Mar 17 2014, 06:15 PM) anyone gotten the dlc or still playing this game? Still playing but not getting the DLCs until it is really cheap or something. Plus plain vanilla is already killing my hours in game, 100+ hours and I still haven't completed the main campaign yet (manually playing each battle/no auto-resolve).

QUOTE(aliesterfiend @ Mar 19 2014, 01:18 PM) Same with me. Haven't bought any DLCs yet though I've been busy these few weeks and haven't played the game much. Too tired even on weekends. Just wondering when Steam summer sales going to happen ? Plan to buy all DLCs when they're 75% off. Summer is probably late June or early July if I am not wrong.
