What to do when you first get your phone

QUOTE
1) check for matching IMEI (dial *#06#) with phone and box.

2) check all contents are available in box

3) check for dead pixels. use samsung function test by typing this code *#0*# into the dialer. go through all the test and make sure everything is working

4) check for any hardware defects by pressing the phone at several spots for squeaking or weird noises.

5) check for yellow tint, open up a white picture and check the screen for yellow-ish

Tips/Tricks

Application that is safe to remove
QUOTE

Tips on battery saving
QUOTE
Try to use manual screen brightness instead of automatic, setting it to 50% or below. You can disable wifi and data connection if you're not using it that frequent, turn it on only when you need to use it.Disable all auto syncing will help as well. You can set the sleep timer below the 1min default setting, as this will off the screen earlier and safe some power.Monitor your task manager once in a while to kill off running apps and processes. Using a black background wallpaper will help save power as well because of S.AMOLED screen.

(NOTE : disabling this may consume more battery. leave it ON unless you're having wifi connection issues)

When you done the installation, plug your SGS3 to USB.

Then for USB option on your SGS3, choose Camera PTP:

I try copying huge number of file just now, the Android File Transfer application crashed. Need to copy slowly, one folder to one folder.

check the app settings in which you encounter dimming. certain app (like the video player, and browser) have their own brightness setting

You leave there for 7 days, oh gosh, what happens to the phone...

I'll scream at them if they not return to me within 3 working days.

By the way, I scream at the day I send in which they can't commit on exchange & return day, so I get the replacement within 3 days.

Sorry to be rude to them, but I got no choice because they not commit to me if I'm not scream at them.

have to put yourself in their shoes as well, i worked as a customer service before so i know

since they promised me 3 - 7 days, i will wait until 7 full days. if nothing is done then i will only take action

I saw video where ppl use the C-Pen on other devices, like S2.
It works but you need to press harder. not sure on other HD screen devices.
Seems like the S3 can detect
the 'touch' at a more narrow angle. even i use my fingernails oso can.
but on other device, cannot. i plan to get c-pen, seems like it's useful when
clicking on tiny buttons in the internet browser, don't need to zoom.

if samsung delay your repair, try ask for something from them. C-Pen? Haha!
Marcus selling at RM99 if not mistaken.

i would ask for 2gb ram upgrade drool.gif drool.gif

That's quite long. You can start taking advantage from them already.
Increase warranty or get new phone in exchange, or maybe you can think of something better.
Tell them by the time they repair, the phone not hot in the market, price drop, etc.
Start finding all those excuses.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
