Hey, guys. Finally I done my DIY Huaraches!!! Yeah!!! Yeah!! Seriously it is not that easy to done it with just follow the youtube video (maybe I`m dump). Now, only left test running. Need test it`s soles can lasting or not. I`m a newbie runner, but usually I will run at lease 5KM, so I will update here again after done the test.
By the way, this Huaraches is only 3mm thick. I think it sure can feel the ground like barefoot. But this week, I think can`t test it, because of my foot was injured since last sunday PJ Half Marathon, Maybe I will try it with walk walk first. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good day, guys. I just make my 2nd pair of Huaraches, this time I use PU on top + elastic lace. It looks much better & feel more comfortable when I worn it.
Seriously to say that, it is not that really easy to make a pair. It have been took me around 6 - 7 hours to finish it. Below is the pictures, I would like to share to all of you. ![]() * My lovely book & DIY Huaraches - Born To Run from Christopher Mcdougall. ![]() * Stick it with Black PU leather & change the lace to elastic lace this time. Looks much better now. ![]() * Front look. ![]() * Only 3mm thick, It sure can let you feel the ground like barefoot walk or running. ![]() * My Huaraches soles, curi from my friend father shoe factory. My friend say this sole is a very good lasting soles. |

QUOTE(Ash1988 @ Oct 8 2012, 09:12 PM) Wah so many pro here. Guys any advice for newbie like me? Hey, me also newbie here. If this is your first time 10K run, I will strong advise you just focus on finish run, not focus on pace time. This is the first time i register for Nike Run 10K.. Dont know can finish or not... Here is my personal experience from my first PJ Half Marathon 21KM: 1. Run slow a bit at first 10 - 15 minutes, this is very good for me to trace my running form is it collect & comfortable. 2. I always keep thinking on running smooth + focus on finish run not focus on pace time. 3. Must stop at water station & drink, I still remember last time I drink 3 cups of 100 plus at each drinking station. 4. Must Avoid those leng lui who running more fast & left you behind. 5. After run around 6 - 10KM, I`m sure you could find someone (leng lui, 6. Of course you can chi- chat with someone if you feel boring. At the end, I really happy on I can finish my first 21KM run. Honestly I never forget about this first 21KM experience. |

QUOTE(auhckw @ Oct 13 2012, 10:51 PM) Hey, I got complete it with very slow 1:20 hours. Just now I`m very unlucky, first my huaraches lace is lose at 3KM, so I have to sit down & tying my lace. 2nd times my lace is broken at 8KM place & my bib is gone!! OMG!! Here I got something need to shoot about Nike, I think I will not join next year run: 1. The finish line is suck!! All the runners stuck there because of want get a mineral water, actually inside also got water, why still want to make all the runners jam there??? 2. The muddy is a nightmare to all runners shoes!!! Lucky I`m barefoot there!! 3. The line up for collect finish T is a nightmare too!! More than 5,000 runners line up to collect it, totally jam like hell!! 4. The last hell part is need wait 1 hour for the bus, but there is still no guarantee got bus coming. Because the crew told me outside are very jam until the bus cannot come in. So, I have to run again from Padang Merbuk to KLCC!! Damn, I think the distance should be around 3- 5KM. |

QUOTE(auhckw @ Oct 14 2012, 11:51 AM) Glad you are alright. I kind of worry seeing you with that huaraches Really thanks for your concern, brother. Hope to see you again in next run. You also go for BSN HF is it?? Maybe we can meet again there. With such trouble and barefoot, you still wanna do it again at 21km... haha I will continue test the huaraches until I sastisfied. Because It`s feeling is super duper nice in running!! QUOTE(auhckw @ Oct 14 2012, 12:09 PM) Hohohohohoho, this looks like muddy version gangnam style. |
