if you have minor scratches only, you may try to use CD polisher to fix them. It'll work.

For deep/serious scratches, then you need to find some stickers to cover it lol. smile.gif

Hiding cables will be a headache.
It's hardly user-friendly, most at least aren't very n00b-friendly.
Cracks due to mishandling can cause some serious heartaches.

clear coat la.. not colour paints. it'll help in protecting your acrylic case from getting scratch. but getting an even spray is important cause it's hard to spray it evenly.

disadvantages :

- get scratch easily
- the joint area crack easily if u dunt take care
- the casing might get blurred if the acrylic quality is not a good one
- builds up dust easily
- hard to clean
- cable management problem
- hard to open also, coz the whole structure will get pretty soft after u've removed one panel
- not rigid enough

Nobody mentioned the most important aspect. Acrylic case has no grounding at all.

There are a few things about Casings that are made from this material. Not only do
are they brittle (crack easily), unless they use better grade of Polymer. The design
must be very good for it to be sturdy. They are not light and careful handling
is required. The glow like a night light it you have those flashy accessories,
they do not even dampen sound well. They are usually hard to maintain and have
a shorter life..... on TOP of all this there is one major flaw in these casings....

EMI FAIL! EMI FAIL! EMI FAIL!!!!!!!
