"Not a Blog" thread which was ever so popular back in the Mythos days has made its triumphant return in Torchlight II. For those that don't know what this thread was about, it was a large thread, comprised of potential features for the community to discuss with the developers, written by Travis Baldree, the Project Lead of Torchlight and at that time Mythos. Because Torchlight II has passed the stage of development where the discussion of potential ideas is important, Travis decided to elaborate on what Runic Games is currently doing. - Webbstre, RGF

do runic already gave out the actually release data?

Nope. It's slated for summer. People are expecting a July/August release. Nobody knows for sure however. Runic have a track record of not announcing any date to releasing the game the next day. drool.gif

Refugee jokes aside, I'm sure Diablo 3 will come off good after some time. Though they should change the name still.

I think we can expect the release date to be somewhere around mid-end August.

For those Diablo 3 players here, have a read at this.

I'm sure you will love it.

Why I don't post it on Diablo 3 section? I don't play the game.

This is gold.

Added on June 20, 2012, 9:13 pmOn a different note, I've been skimming through the threads a bit, and it looks like Jay Wilson is Ropered? rclxms.gif

What do you mean? Whats Ropered?

On the other hand, thank gawd, the designer of Titan Quest, Arthur Bruno, was invited by Jay Wilson, but he didnt join Blizzard at the end and went on to make Grim Dawn. Grim Dawn better kick Diablo's balls till it fall off.

At least i have another decent ARPG to play.
*
Hellgate London. I don't know where to look now, but back then the backlash against Bill Roper was pretty bad. Poor guy.

No mercy for Wilson though. In Flagship case, it was because they ran out of money. No such thing would've happened with Blizzard. vmad.gif

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jun 20 2012, 09:57 PM)
I really doubt its Jay Wilson's fault, as i think he did a very good job as the lead designer of Dawn of War and Company of Heroes where both games have redefined how RTS works.

Diablo 3, on the other hand, it is a terribly made game that promote the usage of the damn RMAH.
*
Well.. Bill Roper "played a key role in the success of the Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo franchises". The guy is practically a war hero. Didn't matter he got lynched anyway. Diablo 3 to Wilson is what Hellgate London was to Roper. sad.gif

Subforum fora single game? I don't think it is needed.

A subforum for a whole genre or a franchise with at least 3-4 titles? That is much more reasonable.
*
This is actually a reasonable idea. After all we have Path of Exile, and Grim Dawn is coming as well. A subforum for ARPG would be nice.

is there a DVD-version of this game? might wanna pick a copy from mid valley when its available or something.

Perfect World is handling the boxed version. You will not get TL1 but you get an access to Neverwinter Beta. Not sure about availability here.

Copy the list and insert your name so that other players can keep adding to it.

I know the list says don't quote, but here's how I do it -

1. Quote the post.
2. Remove quote tags.
3. Append the list with your name. Just replace the placeholder in the template.
4. Post.

Few things I disliked: bosses are too easy, talents are a bit out of place, blink spell in frost tree? And what's with the '?' talents?

QUOTE(gaeria84 @ Jun 26 2012, 12:27 PM)
For those who played Torchlight 1, here's a Torchlight 2 survival guide.

In Torchlight 2,

- You can't enchant your items more than once per enchanter. There's only one resident enchanter in the first town, and he only enchants your gear once. You need to find other enchanters in your adventures. No more enchantment shrines
- Set items are not purple anymore. Quest items now take their place.
- No more adventurer, critical strikes, treasure hunter perks anymore
- No more shadow vault (or otherwise known as the endless dungeon). Now replaced with New Game+

- Stats work differently now
Strength influences your weapon damage and bonus damage from critical strikes
Dexterity influences your crit chance, dodge chance and increases fumble recovery (basically glancing blows from TL1)
Focus influences your spell damage, mana and chance to execute (to attack with both weapons)
Vitality influences your HP and block chance
*
Just want to address your first point -
  • The number of enchantment you can do per enchanter depends on his level, for example an Apprentice Enchanter (the one in town) can only enchant once but you will find more powerful enchanters throughout the game that can enchant 3 or 4 times.
  • Aside from the regular Enchanter, there's also Socket Enchanter where you can socket your gears for a cost. This is far more expensive than regular enchanting.
  • There might be a few other specialists like Boon who sells Set Items (there's an allegedly very rare scroll which can be used to summon him).
  • These guys will appear randomly in dungeons and overworlds alike.
