Woww.. congrats. I think you bought the freedos version right? Can I ask if you faced any problems during windows clean install (buttons don't work, one key etc)?  Currently wondering whether to fly down to KL and get one or not..
Any experience with the Y480 msata ssd?
Thanks!
*
Yep apparently the GT650 version have freedos version only, I don't have any problem installing Windows using bootable thumbdrive.

I don't have experience in mSata SSD, but if you know mandarin you can refer this thread which teach how to replace existing HDD with SSD.

Where did you buy it, Lowyat or garage sales? Any freegift?
This baby really tempting & its going to sell like Hot cake and really make other notebook seems overprice.  thumbup.gif

Since its come with freeDos, any problems in getting all the drivers in place?  hmm.gif
*
I bought from AllIT@Ikano, I initially go Digital Mall find but all of them no stock, only have the GT640M LE version one. No free gift except a carrying bag, but the price is same as garage sales - RM 2380 (they initially tried to chop me with RM2599 shocking.gif )

Driver is not an issue, this laptop will include a driver CD

Dude! Congratulation! Your cooling are better than Y580!!

And wait for the SSD price drop. No way you stress your HDD everyday right brows.gif

You can always turn on the heat sensor software, to monitor every time you using.

The HDD operation Temp is 0~55C.
*
I dunno, CPU over 80 C still consider normal?

I not gonna stress my HDD since I didn't play that much game recently, but I will use it for photoshop, some video editing and programming. Wait till my next month paycheck come in only consider SSD tongue.gif

Now i using a china software to monitor the temperature, under idle use the temperature not that scary rolleyes.gif

Mother Board : 83 C
CPU: Average 80C
Graphic Card: 75C
Hard Disk: 65 C

This temperature is under stress test one, so normal usage even gaming shouldn't exceed that temperature

Your boot time is awesome notworthy.gif , notice any other significant improvement when using SSD?

I plan to get a SSD soon as well, since I've already move my HDD to DVD rom slot

Unfortunately, no 3dmark11/ HW monitor info. GT650m(GDDR5) seems to be very clockable.
There is still some thermal headroom for higher OC. Try 3Dmark11 above 3k++.  brows.gif
Nice boost up with SSD & reduce HDD temp swapped with ODD.
How u install OS to SSD? clean install windows/ drivers?  hmm.gif
How to access that clean fan feature?  hmm.gif

Is the clean fan feature in Lenovo energy management?
*
dual boot woth both hdd and ssd, but actually i only need the SSD one, lazy to format the old one tongue.gif

I not sure about the one key recovery working or not, I manage to create backup but haven try recover it yet

There is a 'fan extraction' command in Lenovo energy management, shud be the clean fan function

can u adjust CPU as belows in Lenovo enery management console?

I don't feel cooler, I think the main heat source still come from CPU and GPU.

I couldn't find the option in your attachment using my lenovo energy management, I do the setting using Win 7 default power option
