how to identify whether 1333/1600?  rclxub.gif  afraid that i will be cheated by the seller

usually at the ram module itself is stated. you also can check it using cpuid whether right now running as 1333mhz or 1600mhz. nod.gif

just my opinion, if want to saves up few bucks, just get the DDR1333mhz, no need 1600mhz, trust me the performance gains only around 1% in real life. laugh.gif

i do not know about the compability for this laptop as currently i do not have it yet but if 1333mhz and 1600, the system will downclock the 1600 to 1333 to match the lower one. if we put different brand with the original one that comes with the laptop but also 1600, i think it might also have compability issue as the ram timing might be not same with the original one. hmm.gif

if you see at benching scores, for me totally not worth, i saw long time ago got reviews comparing these 2 speeds of ram, almost no performance gains. 7zip benchmark something like that only different 3-4 seconds only. LOL laugh.gif

Hmmmm...
I tired before by put another 4GB 1333MHz RAM inside my Y480(then become 8GB run with 1333MHz), the time after insert just ok, speed improved, but after a long time, it become slow like hell, boot time need 120-130k ms....
*
maybe you got bunch of startup apps ? hmm.gif the best solution, get a SSD SATA3. laugh.gif

no lol...
I already adjust to best condition...
now I move out that 1333MHz module, boot time become 40k ms(40s) only...
*
that's weird. lol..

Hi I recently bought Y580, and the HDD really does reach 62C in normal use, not when I benchmark / test it with a software. What I did was downloading with uTorrent and also UNRAR some files, HWMonitor showed it peaked at 62C.

And I don't know if it is driver problem or hardware problem, I have some graphically tearing when I play some games like PES2012 and Spec Ops The Line, didn't appear when I play Prototype 2, but when I play Prototype 2, sometimes the graphic stuck for few seconds, not the audio, then it will go back to normal again..

My VGA peaked at 69C and idle at 44C, lowest at 40C..
*
that HDD temp really sweat.gif sweat.gif yes it can still running on that temp but its lifespan will be decreased dramaticly as max temp for most hdd only around 55c +- ... That gpu issues most probaly caused by overheating or gpu dead. Looks like its not overheating. i think something wrong with your gpu. have you try stress your gpu ? got artifacts ? hmm.gif

Yes that's what I'm concerned about the HDD, it's 1TB, so I thought I can use it to keep some of my important file from my PC, but now I changed my mind biggrin.gif
So now this 1TB is only good for me to install games.. LOL

I never done any stress test to my GPU, anyway is there any case before if artifacts shown caused by bad drivers?
*
Bad drivers also can lead unstablity. Are you using latest one ?
