Hi Guys, what sort of approvals are required from the authorities if I was to renovate a house in Denai Alam.  Assuming, I plan to renovate, ie extend the back kitchen and 1st floor room out to the boundary line.  Will it take a long time to obtain the approval from the authorities?

Im thinking of laminated or tempered glass to replace the grill for mine..but not cheap though.

Grill, if any MF want to break in, they still cut it no matter how thick. My house have been broken into twice by this method..IMO

I think you hv the right idea. I hv been toying with twin laminated glass sandwiched with chicken wire similar to the us embassy windows. It also keeps heat out due to the insulation layer between the two panes and the wire mesh. The wire will not be visually noticeable and would do a better job than grilles which get cut easily as it's messy to deal with glass and wires.

Only question is where can we find this? In my current home, I sandwiched a security film between two layers of glass.

i had very typical issue from this contractor as well , house renovation at denai alam , shah alam. I got his contact number around that area , i thought it would be better to have a contractor who is familiar with the housing area here. Done 60% of his work at the moment .

He left ,

1. electricial wiring and socket , install lighting .

2. autogate and grill in powder coated

3. cctv and alarm system

4. piping termination work

Starting of the project everything went well, he always come on time and respond to everything i asked to do but now i have been calling him almost twice a week , never pick up my calls and never bother to get things done even tho he promised to . Its been going on for almost two months now,
i finally feel the danger sense whereby he MIGHT leave this shit to me without getting it done. Of cause i still havent pay him the 10% payment .

Is there any chance that any contractor would be able to take over this leftover works @ denai alam , shah alam? because everything went quite messed up now with this contractor . Really upset with this kind of people with only money on his head. So i hope no one get this kind of issue from him, please beware.

i would update this again if this contractor respond to me after CHINESE NEW YEAR. (because last he told me he can only get his work done after that , which i highly doubt so)

like i mentioned , everything was good at first , i have no idea what went wrong that he keep delaying my work until now . its been two months. my family suspect that he owe people money unable to pay the sub con money to continue to work. He needs other project to cover mine (I THINK).

Now he kept giving me all sort of excuses, and rarely pick up my calls.
