Yeah, iOS is like closed OS unlike Android can be port in most of the smartphone everywhere. This make them very unique as only Apple product run iOS, since the iOS only run in Apple iDevice which only manageable by Apple and I think that's why the iOS is so stable compare to Android 

yes. its been 4 years since android has been around and 5 years for ios. things have changed a lot. so even problems u face last year must be revisited if u want to continue to make that claim. as stable as ios is, i have encountered it hanging every now and than. and as unstable as android is i have encounted less hanging. mind u both my ipad and samsung s3 are on STOCK os.  android a year ago i would agree hangs more often. my galaxy s1 do hang quite often, but i know why. its because some apps just can't run on it anymore. so when i run it hangs.

another aspect people don't look at is whether they want to go for a close system or open system.
both have its advantages and disadvantages. an open system is like your PC. and a closed system is like your macintosh (apple up to today is still closed).

the reason macintosh is still alive although it has been butchered by pc sales is coz some people value its closed nature. in short closed u get quality and refinement. open u can innovation but chaos.

galaxy note is a bit laggy on ics. but is much better on galaxy s3. iOS still reigne supreme in the smoothness department though. some people value smoothness more than others.
