Me too. The problem happened after it was upgraded to ML

It takes a few seconds from sleep. The screen shows black colour with a cursor.
*
thats why i advised everyone to wait for a preinstalled unit.
the problem is serious though

I saw those third party mini display port to VGA or HDMI (can't remember which) at lowyat stores. I wonder if is compatible with the current MBP ?
*
for VGA, better to get the Apple one.
HDMI, get 3rd party as Apple doesnt have one

for those using rMBP, when you are using browsers other than safari and word processors (non iworks) does the text look pixelated? i know all apple apps have been updated to accommodate the retina display but wonder how other apps will look like.
*
Chrome is supporting retina, MS Word no but theres a Terminal command that allows it

I normally turn up my resolution to 1920x1200 if I'm using such non-retina apps. It helps to reduce the ugliness of the pixels.  rclxms.gif

I may have missed the tip earlier and now can't seem to have any luck with Googling it. Mind to give a hint? biggrin.gif

Wow. Nice find bro! Will try it later. Hope it works for PowerPoint and Excel as well. biggrin.gif
Well, even if you were to stick with 1440x900, it still looks decent. You should try out the rMBP with MS Word first - to see if it is your cup of tea.  icon_rolleyes.gif

To me, from a normal seating distance, it still looks workable. It's just that it looks awful when you are used to all the Retina-ready apps. tongue.gif

I normally switch to 1920x1200 anyways because I love the extra screen space.  rclxm9.gif

I'm just glad that i didnt install MS Office, don't use those Apps smile.gif
but what really irritates me is the Twitter App, the pixel is horrible

Hi there, I would like to purchase the mbpr but I wanted to ask for opinion since the scaling of graphic is processed by the processor is the ram consumption will be higher den average mac? If so is the 16gb ram upgrade option worth it?
*
RAM consumption is the same, but if you have the cash why not get the 16GB upgrade? smile.gif
i got it, but only use 6GB for my daily task.
just worried about future applications, might need more memory to operate

this is exactly what i was worried about. Apple may have an excellent display but if other apps are not upgraded to be compatible with it, then we are limited to OSX apps that are. i was going to get a mba but since there are rumors that a 13 inch rmbp is coming soon, i waited. i guess from your experience (which is similar to what i do) i'll probably stick with the mba.
*
well a 13" rMBP will surely be under power.
Apple wont be putting a discrete GPU inside it, so it wont be ideal for any heavy tasks.
note that even iPhoto needs to run on discrete GPU on 15" rMBP

so you think i should just go get the mba instead of waiting?
*
if MBA suits your purpose for it, by all means get it.
it depends on the task you're going to run it on.
the MBA is capable of handling many tasks, and note that theres a 8GB RAM upgrade as well

Ok noted. My friend telling me the same thing but I just wonder is the upgrade really worth it? Or psycological effect to max it out lol.
there is a tweak/hack to overcame it =] I do it everyday with my dual screen setup in lion.
*
i got the 16GB update for my rMBP because i want to have a CTO order so ML will be preinstalled biggrin.gif

actually there isn't any laptop out there that match the hardware of rMBP. But I found that Samsung series 9 laptop do have some good review from many websites, which you can have a look into.

I'm having hard time to decide on the RAM upgrade as well... 8 or 16Gb?  hmm.gif
And looking at the price up from 2.3 to 2.6Ghz processor is so little... it makes me feel like upgrading it as well...
*
i would advise to get the RAM upgrade instead of processor.
battery life drops faster on the 2.6Ghz.
unless you have use for it

Thanks for your reply.

Btw, is there any software to test the MBPRD screen for dead pixels, light bleed, ghosting etc?
*
no software, just use http://jasonfarrell.com/misc/deadpixeltest.php
light bleed has to be checked by using black background and on max brightness

I just test the RMBP , really amazing and impressive, the weight really light compared with the normal MBP , the graphic and the sound really nice. Will order it and join you guys

I watch the Youtube 4K Video on it, the picture very nice but it got a bit lags when playing. What problem is it ?

How to check and switch the Graphic from Integrated Graphic to Graphic Card ?
*
laggy maybe because its on integrated gpu.
need to download gfxcardstatus to monitor graphic switching
