@edoras/stringfellow

regarding magsafe 2, do you guys find it flimsy?
if you're placing the Mac on the bed, will it easily come off?

for the macbookpro RD price affordable to puchase MacPro quad-core desktop, what's make you think to puchase notebook over desktop?
*
if you're giving such statements, why not puchase a self assembled pc?
full spec also won't cost you 3/4 of the RMBP price tongue.gif
its down to what the user wants, everyone have different needs

is it possible mac book pro 13 retina come out this october

and what is expected price? 5k?
*
doesn't seem like apple will do that, although I'm aware of the rumors.
if they release it, theres gonna be 3 13" models, and it will eventually kill its own product line

maybe the all new the generation of macbook pro will have the retina display (13" and 15"). but it'll come in stages. just like how they released the first gen of macbook aluminum and the white macbook was still in production for a period of time before they discontinued it.
*
thats how it should be, eventually still down to 2 product lines

Flimsy? I think its design to make it easily come off when you trip the magsafe...
*
i understand that.
but compared to the "L" shaped magsafe, which is it better?
since putting it on the bed will cause unevenness and might detach the new Magsafe 2 because of its design

well if they wan reduce the size like the 15in, so probably add 1k to current base price

since it will be ssd as well
*
should be same price as high spec 13" MBP
but the launch won't make sense, 3 13" MacBooks

Its slightly easier to be detach with Magsafe2 design due to its design to plug straight instead of the L shape.
Actually, I prefer this way. tongue.gif  Safer..
*
i think its better to have a L shaped one.
previously it was like the magsafe 2 design, then Apple came up with the L shape

do u guys think it's good to buy from senq for 2 yrs warranty?
*
i think getting the ACPP is better, sent will fix it themselves, might not be qualified and takes a longer time for warranty claim

Ok, thanks for clarification....

Looking forward to owning my first Macbook Pro. Still undecided whether to go for Retina Display or not.

Will wait until Machines have display units to test it out.
*
i was told that machines already have display units for Retina Display MBP

slimness is one thing - it's almost impossible to fit an ethernet port on the current thickness of the MBP Retina

the other main thing is weight. optical drives aren't light, and to keep the weight down to an amazing 2kg, Apple just had to remove it.

basically weight is the MAIN reason i ordered the MBP Retina to replace my 2011 MBP 15". smile.gif
*
great choice, they removed the things that are not useful and replace them with things we find useful.
thats the reason i ordered it biggrin.gif

I actually placed my order around 15 minutes after apple store malaysia reopened. Around 1 hour after the product is launched (4am if I'm not wrong).

Retina MBP.

All the way from Shanghai. Guess it is a Asia hub for asia purchases. So literally you guys are fighting with everyone in Asia to get the RMBP. Not just Malaysian.

My friend ordered in the morning (around 10am). The delivery time changed to 2 - 3 weeks.

Subsequently, it drops again to 3 - 4 weeks. With more reviews are popping up on the internet. More people will be flocking to get their RMBP. As this is a new product, people dare not put in big chuck of money at one go before any reliable review.

Overall, this is a extremely good product. I'm not comparing it to PC. By just comparing it to the non retina MBP, you will see huge differences.

I received my shipment on Monday 2pm. If you are eager to get it, track the shipment every now and then after you got the airway bill number. Go to DHL @ Subang Cargo Terminal and collect it. It will be faster that way.

My shipment info:
Monday, June 18, 2012 Location Time
11 Delivered -  KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA 14:10
10 With delivery courier  KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA 14:09

7 Arrived at Delivery Facility in KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA  KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA 06:58
6 Departed Facility in KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA  KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA 03:11
5 Processed at KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA  KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA 03:10
4 Arrived at Sort Facility KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA  KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA 01:28

Friday, June 15, 2012 Location Time
3 Departed Facility in SHANGHAI - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC  SHANGHAI - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC 19:14
2 Processed at SHANGHAI - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC  SHANGHAI - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC 18:17
1 Shipment picked up  SHANGHAI - CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC 17:01

The delivery is very fast. Once your RMBP leaves the warehouse, you will need 3-4 days only to reach Malaysia. The problem lies in the warehouse. No stock I guess. The amount of RMBP is kinda limited right now. Goto GeekBench, there is less than 1000 RMBP been tested worldwide.

Apple's online store asia hub is at Singapore.
the one in shanghai is for CTO/BTO orders
