wotanserver used to be my favourite tools, when they're was free. but now flashtool is a must tool for everybody who are into flashing roms.

I heard that ICS 4.0.3 is better for neo v than 4.0.4 as many user updated 4.0.4 got many problem. Where to find update for ics 4.0.3? Is sony released them? Or i hv to use flashing? Tq

it's better to use the latest software because it's contains of bugs fixed .
but it may also consists of new bugs .
different user , different opinions .
it's better for you to try yourself .

you must flash it using flashtool since sony only release their latest firmware through sony update service and pc companion.
download the latest flashtool and install it on your computer .
flash the ftf file using the flashmode .

get the ics 4.0.3 for neo v (hong kong) from here (pre-rooted) .
or
here for greek .

pre-rooted mean the rom already been rooted .
you don't need to root it again .

but the hong kong version is the based stock rom .
not official stock rom from sony .

not all units can be unlocked .
all units that been produced after 12w14 can't be unlocked IINM .
even the official ways .

first off thanks for the tips! rooted my device already thanks to you all hehe

would like to input as i was following these steps on the first page


Rooting xperia pro android 4.04

the sixth step didnt work for me, changed the kernel to MK16_4.1.B.0.587 and it worked. Though in my case I had already updated my phone to the latest version before i rooted.

just got my xperia neo v today....hehe. But afraid to root it. Any good roms for gaming without root???

You need to root to installed custom rom .

If your phone get hot while using than it's normal .
But when your phone still get hot while in standby .
That's not normal .
It's better to repair your phone with sony update service if the problem still occur .
Sony update service usually will fix it .
