This Nendoroid Complete File looks awesome!! Does anyone know how much it's going to cost in Malaysia, and whether it's something the hobby shops have or whether I should try Kinokuniya?

Another Saber, although this one is different enough to be really nice!

guys, anyone own ikaros / nymph ? how's the quality like ?

thinking of getting them but the reviews are not good..
*
I have them both, but they're still boxed (want to finish the anime first, and only on Chapter 7 now). Not sure what the quality of the joints are like, but they have decent accessories - Ikaros has the red-eye battle mode as well as the normal mode, and she has her watermelon etc.. Nymph is more lively and cuter, and they both look pretty nice. The only thing I can think of against them by staring at their boxes is that the overall package looks a bit dull compared to the other Nendos, and this includes the boxes. Both Angeloids have a lot of black and white, with only their hair and eyes standing out in terms of colour, and even then the hair and eye colour aren't as bright as what I notice from other less colourful Nendos, say - Mayuri or even BRS. BRS is mainly black and flesh, but where there's colour it really stands out and creates a focal point, whereas with Ikaros and Nympy the brown and blue seems to blend into the white and flesh. Not to say that they don't look good (or maybe both my boxes just have dull plastic windows), they're just less colourful - even the boxes look dull. If you like Sora No Otoshimono you really should go for them - the personalities of the characters are captured quite well in the Nendos. I only wish they'd make a chibi Petit version of Ikaros someday - she's so adorable when she shrinks into chibi mode in the anime!

the nendo book is awesome! i cant wait to have mine arrive >_<
*
Yeah, it looks to be something you can just stare at for hours.. although the danger is that you suddenly feel the urge to hunt for some older obscure Nendos which cost a bomb. The book will also be great for giving inspiration on how to pose certain Nendos - you can see pics on the web, of course, but having it all in a book is so convenient!

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jun 24 2012, 12:38 AM)
Hmm... I find the Madoka PVCs quote dull... was wondering if the nendo versions are better? How many have been released? Tq.
*
For the series, there have been 7 Nendos released - one each of the five Puella Magi Madoka, Homura, Mami, Sayaka and Sakura, and two student versions of Madoka and Homura. Not sure if the last two are actually available yet as I don't recall seeing them on shelves. Then there's the Nendo petit set of 11 (+1 duplicate) which has the 5 puella Magi in magic girl uniform, 5 of them in student uniform, and the cute madokami which x-108-x mentioned. For Nendos I've only got Homura, Mami and Sayaka, and while Homura is a cute Nendo, she pales in comparison with Mami and Sayaka. Mami, in particular, is an awesome Nendo, probably my joint favourite Nendo with Dead Master - both come with so many accessories squeezed onto that little base that they can easily be centrepieces of your Nendo collection. Mami comes with rifles (one in hand and three set on the base ready for action) and a kawaii Charlotte worm. I know Charlotte is supposed to eat Mami but when posed together on the same base they really make a cool diorama - Mami can look worried as Charlotte comes to eat her, or just pose them as friends which works probably better. Sayaka doesn't quite have anything as eye-catching as Charlotte, but has 8 swords - one in hand and seven set on the base - with a cloak which makes her action-ready. Poor Homura just cannot compete with only one bazooka - wish they gave her another four or so. I skipped Sakura and Madoka as they looked a bit boring.

You've seen the 5 Goodsmile PVCs - Homura is nice, Mami looks better when you see her in person rather than just the pics, but I don't think much of Madoka or even Madokami. Maybe because Madoka really spends 90% of the series in student outfit, letting the other 4 girls do all the fighting, that I don't feel any bond whatsoever with the Magical Girl Madoka or Goddess Madoka. I haven't seen Sayaka or Sakura in person, which is scary as I've pre-ordered Sayaka (my favourite Magical Girl).

For Figma it's the 5 magical girls with, I think, student versions of Homura and Madoka again. Those are rather excellent, especially Mami and Sayaka because of the way you can arrange those multiple swords and rifles. You can do the same with the Nendos, of course, but with Figmas they look less cute, and more awesome.

haha... I collect all the nendos except school version (gonna get it soon)... madokami will be my first madoka magica scaled...

well while madoka doesn't seem to do much, she has in fact influenced the anime in the sense that kyubey is trying to turn her into one, and homura is dead set on not making it happen... sayaka who's friends with madoka is also being influenced by kyubey

among all the nendoroids, homura is my favorite... my least fav is sayaka... among the characters, homura is my fav too, seconded by mami or madoka, then sakura and lastly sayaka tongue.gif
*
I didn't mean that I didn't like Madoka at all, it's her magical girl mode which I don't have any feel for because she only appears in it in the second last episode (not counting the odd flashback). If they made a PVC of her in student outfit I might like it more. My mental image of Madoka will always be her in her student outfit rather than in her magical girl outfit (despite all her PR pics being in magical girl outfit), while the others come to mind in the magical outfits. I'd probably buy Sayaka and Mami in student outfit too if they were ever released. Sakura never really appealed to me character-wise.

I haven't seen the BRS ova, but the anime, while quite nice and artistic, was nowhere near as good as Puella Magi Madoka Magika, but that's more due to PMMM being a rather excellent anime more than BRS being particularly bad.

Since this is a Nendo thread, perhaps I can recommend some anime based on the Nendos we have available - that's also how I select which animes to watch. "If they make a Nendo from the anime, it must be popular" was the motto I went by, and so far with one exception it hasn't let me down. It also helps that when you end up loving certain characters you can keep them with you beyond the end of the anime, whereas with anime like Nurarihyon no Mago and Rosario Vampire, both of which I enjoyed very much, I'm left pining for a Nendo or Figma which I can keep in memory of my favourite characters. Best to start from the Nendo and work backwards!!

"Stein's Gate" - the cool time-travel series which makes you laugh, cry and sweat almost at the same time. After you've finished it, you can pick up Kurisu Makise and Mayuri Shiina, and there's a Figma Kurisu too. However, if you're like me, you'll end up pining for an Okabe Rintou Figma and Nendo too, but Kurisu is undoubtedly the star of the show, and her Nendo (both versions) and Figma are excellent.

"K-On!" and the sequel "K-On!!" - sheer unbridled cheerful entertainment. The only downer is that there's a HUGE amount of merchandise to spend your cash on after you've finished the anime, so much that it's really scary. It's an amazing series, though, second only to Evangelion Rebuild in terms of Blu-Ray sales when it first came out, I think. The Nendos are also extremely adorable, and come in separate boxes as well as two "live stage" sets which require immense willpower to resist buying!!

"Ore Imoudo .. something". I just call it "OreImo". About a girl who loves Otaku and ropes in her brother to help her indulge in her hobby without letting her friends and family know. That's where the excellent Nendos Kuroneko and Kirino Kousaka come from.

"Tantei Opera Milky Holmes". The exception, but worth a mention because my taste might not be representative of everyone elses, and the four Milky Holmes Nendos have to be the nicest and most colourful set out there - even the five Puella Magi pale in comparison to the bright colours of Sherlock Shillingford, Cordelia Glauca, Hercule Burton and Yuzuwhatever Nero. I hated the series because the four protagonists were just complete idiots (Yui Hirasawa from K-On! was an airhead too, but she had incredible charm and likeability, something which Milky Holmes don't), but the series has a season 2 now, and 4 Nendos, so they must be doing something right!

"The World God Only Knows" is where the demons Haqua and Elsie come from - quite an interesting story about a hero trying to help a demon capture some lost spirits by getting the possessed girls to fall in love with him, and as their hearts fill with love the spirits are forced out as there's no longer any room in the girl for them. The hero was chosen by the demon for help because he plays romance visual novels, and due to that is an expert on theoretical female emotions. Quite interesting, although that last episode was really lame and kind of spoiled it for me. Elsie and Haqua are great Nendos, Elsie in particular has those rapidly-moving arms and legs effects which are just hilarious!

"Sora No Otoshimono" is the one I'm watching now, and the Nendos from there are the Angeloids Ikaros and Nymph. I haven't finished it yet, but so far it's been a really excellent anime. A bit more fanservice than normal compared to other anime in this list but nevertheless it has a good-paced story that slowly draws you in despite a lot of slapstick humour. I'm halfway through season one and I don't even know the main plot yet - but feel like I know Ikaros and Nymph quite well already!

"Working!" and the sequel "Working!!" was decent, and the Nendos Popura, Inami, Yamada as well as the Wagnaria restaurant set are just adorable! The overall theme of Working isn't that great, more about a bunch of restaurant workers who have rather weird habits which become obsessions - the weaknesses are that the habits are a bit over the top (such as a girl who fears men and will hit them within a certain radius with superhuman strength, and a guy who absolutely adores anything small and loses interest when they are larger and less cute), and the episode plots revolve around these silly habits which get annoying after a while. Nevertheless, there are some really good episodes in there, and none of the cast really end up being unlikeable, and there's a certain charm to the series (and I always end up starting to enjoy it just before the series ends =P).

That should tide you over for quite a few weeks or months, and set you on course to have a large number of Nendos to hunt down when you're finished! I'm evil, I guess... welcome to the land of no return!! =)

K-on...i should think twice...because volcaloid i still havent complete...
*
It's not the same as Vocaloids at all afaik. Vocaloids are more music video icons (I think) while K-On is actually a very heart-warming story about a clueless girl who joins a school band and learns to play the guitar along the way. It's so fun that everyone should watch it at least once - the seiyu who plays Yui really makes the character come to life!

QUOTE(x-1o8-x @ Jun 24 2012, 05:41 PM)
it can be finished in less than a week biggrin.gif

quite a nice recommendation over there! tantei opera while having low scores, it is surprisingly funny mainly because of their idiocy biggrin.gif i still like kokoro-chan the most from that series!

of all the anime u listed, I'd pick steins;gate as the top tongue.gif
*
The scary thing is you're probably right about the week, but it'd have to be a week where you didn't have to work or go to school. And you'd have to sacrifice and miss out on a lot of other things. Certainly many of the animes are in the "cannot-stop" category! smile.gif

Oh, I liked Kokoro-chan and G4 (especially the girl with the lollipop in the mouth and the laptop), and I absolutely adored Henrietta in student mode (she was cool in Arsene mode, but you don't really see the endearing side of her then). If the four Milky Holmes girls didn't exist in the anime it would have been quite enjoyable, but then there wouldn't be a story. It was one of the few animes I aborted halfway. For some reason I got curious about season 2 and watched episode 1 too - things haven't changed and I think I'll abort it there too! Nendo-wise the four girls are really well-done, but to be honest I probably wouldn't have bought the set if it wasn't for the Goodsmile PVC Arsene figure. She'll be the centrepiece and I'll surround her with the four Nendos. Tragically I still can't find Arsene anywhere so Milky Holmes stay in their boxes for now!

Steins;Gate was really wonderful. Made me cry like a girl while watching on my laptop in Starbucks - didn't expect certain episodes to pull at the heartstrings so much .. the entire feel of the anime just changes without warning, and it's all so masterfully done! The ending also has a final feel to it, so there won't be any sequels, making it feel that much more precious. There's an OVA out there somewhere recently, I think, but I still haven't watched it. Still haven't found labcoat Kurisu's Nendo too!

*Tries to hold in the ultimate fangirl-rant about how amazing Madoka Magica is and how there are only very few series that can compare to it*

@Charsiupao: For Steins;Gate they also announced FeyrisNyannyan, though nothing has been heard/seen about her ever since. sad.gif (And I reaaaally hope they make Okariiiin since he scored so high during the voting..)
Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii wake ga nai (or something XDD), there's also Ayase (though she doesn't have much of a presence, one of the most boring nendoroids I have seen..)
For Milky Holmes there's also the game-exclusive Sharo and Kokoro is being made as well.
I hope they make more of the girls from Kami Nomi.. especially Chihiro.. ;____;

(Sorry, I just had to act like a nerd for a little.. x_x)

--

Oh, and I should start watching Fate/Zero.. I really want that Saber on her motor but I know NOTHING about her or the series and I can't justify 'just' buying nendoroids anymore.. x_x
*
Puella Magi Madoka Magica was very very good, no reason to hold back. Just make your praise with reference to Nendos and it'll be ok! I didn't expect to end up buying so many PMMM figures when I started watching.. I thought I'd watch it because Tomoe Mami looked like a really cool figure. Little did I know how early she'd be removed, and how gripping the story was. The music also played a BIG part - it was really good, and made me feel a lot more immersed in the story than I would normally do... and poor Homura. She tried so hard, and I can't imagine what it must be like in her shoes, playing through failure after failure almost forever, trapped in a loop of torture that can only eventually end in one way. I can't stop thinking about her. Thanks to the quality of the show I have 3 Nendos (skipped Madoka and Sakura who I didn't like that much), the Petit set (which I have to say isn't as nice as the other petit sets I have. The colours are more pastel-paint compared to the more smooth feel of other petits, but that's probably due to the PMMM art style), all 5 magical girl Figmas, and I'm now seriously considering getting 1/8 PVCs for the three girls I like too - I saw Mami and Homura at Anime Fest Asia, and they looked so so good. Going to end up being the second costliest after K-On for me.....

Feyris would be great, and very suitable for Nendo in terms of looks, although her character is rather minor (one of those which made me cry, though). I wish they'd seriously make Okarin and maybe also Daru. He should be easy enough to make and be lots of fun. For Steins;Gate fans, having Kurisu without Okarin is just... wrong. It's like having Figma Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley without Shinji Ikari...

I actually like Ayase's Nendo. It's boring, true, with barely any accessories, and quite expensive for what you get, but she does look really cute. I've stuffed her in a display diorama with Muto Ashirogi and Eiji Niizuma, so she probably doesn't like me much, but that sweating, distressed faceplate was just asking for it!!! I can't wait for Kokoro's Nendo - it looked really good, never seen Sharo since not only did I not play the game, I didn't even finish the anime! Still waiting on the inevitable Henrietta Nendo!!

To be honest, I can't remember any of the girls from Kami Nori. The only one I can even recall the face of was the one who bought out the Yakisoba bread in the school canteen, and that's because she looked really striking. All of them had a rather minor role in the overall scheme of things, though, and disappeared from the series after their spirits were recovered - would have been nice if they reappeared and at least remembered something (but that would probably make life uncomfortable for the protagonist). It was a really clever series, although that last episode was a bit of an insult to gamers. Still great fun, and I'm waiting for Season 2!

Fate Zero is just awesome - you'll get more than you bargained for if you really just want to watch it for Saber. The only down side is you know how it will end, and the characters are done so well that you can't help but like them. Even Gilgamesh, who I detested in Fate Stay Night, has a certain charm in Fate Zero. When the inevitable petit set comes I'm definitely buying it, although I really hope that we'll see Iskandar in Nendo form someday. Not likely, but still worth dreaming about. Complete with chariot and petit Waver Velvet.

LOL, I might pass on the nendoroid... I used to have the petit and I decided to sell it away.. not sure because I hate petit, or I dont really like the chibi form of madokami biggrin.gif

and personally, I disliked K-On... probably because I hated how out of the 39 episodes (S1 & S2), like 70% of it were about girls drinking tea and talking around than actually playing music... it does give me some good laugh once in awhile tho. tho I have to admit, during it's airing, it had one of the best fanservice... which IMO right now that title belongs to nisemonogatari tongue.gif

that said, I wish they'd consider "nendoroizing" tsukihi and karen-chan in tsukihi's clothes biggrin.gif
K-On! and K-On!! didn't have any fanservice at all. Even when Mio tripped and exposed herself for the audience to see, it was all just suggestive and never actually shown. I don't think there was a single panty-shot in K-On! or K-On!!. It was the kind of "safe for the whole family" kind of fun. Music is just part of the plot - it's not really musical in the way Hatsune Miku is, although the music is really good. The CDs cost me another bomb there... sad.gif

QUOTE
then if you have the time, you should read up the manga... the manga goes wayy deeper and all the girls have more roles to play... you get to see more involvement of the girls with keima... it really is a good manga biggrin.gif
*
Sounds like a good idea. Kami Nori the anime was a clever plot but limited by being rather shallow at times, so the manga should make it infinitely better. I remember watching Rosario Vampire the anime (now that had tons of fanservice) and found it good, then later when I read the manga I couldn't believe how poor the anime was compared to the manga. That experience is what's stopping me from watching Bakuman the anime, even though I'm in love with the manga. For Kami Nori, I really want to know who Haqua is - I have the boxed Nendo but have no idea what to do with her right now - the manga will help immensely.

not fanservice in terms of panty and boob shots... but u can see how they really focus on the characters's moe points etc etc tongue.gif, rather than on the storyline. people were attracted to the characters biggrin.gif. that's also fanservice, fanservice is not just boobs and pantsu biggrin.gif

hmmm if i remember clearly, the anime should be more than enough to tell u who haqua is... i might have mixed up manga and anime tho >"<, so I don't really wanna spoil anything here tongue.gif
*
Oh, then yeah, lots of that in K-On! but the characters really carry the series. It's more like a sitcom where your favourite characters just go through life and funny situations rather than any great overall plot (other than making it through high school, and it does end with them graduating and making us all cry) - so even *yuck* Milky Holmes is considered fanservice-heavy, since it has no plot at all and just concentrates on four idiots? smile.gif

Kami Nori season 1 ends with a single picture of Haqua, telling us to look forward to seeing her in season 2. I still have no idea who she is, but from her clothing it's obvious she's from the same place as Elsie, which can't be bad!

Great choice! Just bear with the first half of the series, it might seem a bit shallow and (occasionally) complicated and hard to understand, but it's all part of the plot which builds up slowly at first then hits you like a ton of bricks during the second half mercilessly. By the end of the series all questions will be answered.

and I'm re-watching K-On! still as funny as ever. Btw anyone knows where to get the K-On! Movie? *sorry out of topic*
*
I'm looking for it too - the London trip one? I watch K-On very often - have the entire Season 1 backed up onto my phone and when I'm bored I just watch any episode at random and I'll be smiling within a few minutes!

I just finished Sora No Otoshimono Season 1 - my goodness, Ikaros would thrash Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon with that Uranus System Battle Mode even if it was ripped off the GoB. Excellent series, and the scale of combat in that last episode was quite unexpected and spectacular. Tonight I'll unbox Ikaros and Nymph (and discover for myself the problems they have with their stands!). They are SO adorable, though!! smile.gif Damn I really want a Nendo Petit of Ikaros and also Tomoki (naked with that little cloud)!!!

You're milking too much $ out of me, Saber! and what a disappointing final episode you had in FZ yesterday  sweat.gif
*
I haven't watched the second half of FZ, but from FSN it is expected that there'll be a bad ending in FZ, and Saber will part on really bad terms with Kiritsugu. IIRC she was telling Shirou how she was angry with his father for winning the grail and commanding her to destroy it without ever telling her why. She'd realise by the end of FSN why it had to be done, but the end of FZ for me would be quite depressing. But then all prequels have this problem, I guess - Revenge of the Sith, for example. I did find it odd how friendly Saber could get with Irisviel when it took her really long to warm up to Shirou in FSN, almost as if the writers forgot that their poster girl wasn't always as friendly in FSN. She should have been just a cold, expressionless but loyal bodyguard. As a prequel, plot was always going to be the weak point of FZ - it's hard to plot a nice, scenic and meaningful course when your destination is already fixed at someplace miserable.

The positives which FZ brought to me are some really good music, spectacular combat animation and a new series of really excellent characters (I'll never forget Tokiomi (for some reason I really like him), Iskandar, Waver Velvet, Irisviel and Diarmuid), and hopefully more rather than less of them will one day get the Figma and Nendo treatment. I already have the old SME, but am tempted to get the new one now too!! Not going to let a single FZ figure out of my clutches the way I missed out on Saber and Shirou Figmas.

true! Well, i know the ending of fz is gonna be depressing and it left this lingering, unsatisfied feeling in my heart  wink.gif But at least it's much better than FSN, i agree the music and action scenes are choreographed very well, the selling point for me. yeah i wanted Saber armor and alter figma, but their price now  shocking.gif My bad coz I just discovered Fate Zero when it was released (and halfway of FZ, I watched FSN). I will just collect their upcoming Nendos, hopefully GSC will release a nendo petite set of FZ characters! Gilgamesh or Rider figma/nendo would be nice too!

Anyone here ordered Complete File Saber?
*
Now they just need to remake FSN using today's animation techniques, and expand UBW (poor Ilya - it'll be even worse now that we know who her parents are) into a full-sized series, then we don't have that "why prequel battles were so much better than later battles" problem so prevalent with Star Wars. If I remember correctly, Saber Alter Figma isn't too expensive - quite close to normal retail price, although original Saber armour and Shirou are cutthroat right now. So are Rin and Rider, I believe, but I've already got them so it doesn't affect me as much.

I tried to order Complete File Saber from the person I normally buy from, but they've no more room for orders. He was only charging RM230 too! Darn sad.gif Maybe I'll luck out and see it sitting on a shelf in Kinokuniya or something! smile.gif

Another Strike Witches Nendo - is the series that good? The outfits look very uncomfortable.. I'm tempted to watch but I have a bad feeling that I'll regret it and end up having to chase all the Strike Witches Nendos down.

Does anyone have a pic of how they look like posed "flying"? Looking for inspiration on how to pose Ikaros.

If she's going to be October or November I swear I'm going to boycot GSC for a few months from now on. (As in, not order anything anymore, lol not 'not pay for my orders')

Finalists for Snow Miku '13:

Once again very disappointed. All except number four are very generic. There were some extremely nice entries but nooo.. Personally I loved the one with the orange because it was so refreshing..

Oh well, at least that means I'll save some money. I already regret buying this Snow Miku because at that time I thought 'She wasn't what I would choose at all but meh she ended up kind of cute and she'll be my first Snow Miku so I'll get her after all'. Never again.

/End of rant.

2 looks very very familiar - but I thought 4 was unique enough to want? Or does Miku without twintails just not feel right?

I think the orange one probably didn't win because it didn't fit with the snow theme? If it was an Autumn Miku it would probably win.

^^^ Their stands are special, so you can pose them flying. It's like a little clip to their shirt.

...I personally like the series, but it's mainly fanservice and pantsu shots? the idea behind it is good, but the story has..very little or kinda messed up plot IMO.

Thanks - I'll hold off on watching it then, although I might be tempted to get at least one of the girls just to get my hands on a flying stand! Have to see which one has the cutest faceplates! smile.gif

Already opened both of mine. Accessory-wise, they're nice wif adorable faceplates. Only issue is their base attacthment. To attact any of them to the base given, u need to connect it with the wings while attaching it to the body. Honestly, very annoying and troublesome, esp when u want to swap faces as the slightest jilt will detach all 3 parts.
Pretty nendo, but horrible base attachment. B-but i still love ikaros! >_<

Finally got round to posing my Ikaros and Nymph, and I see what you mean with the bases. Even if you want to just make them stand you need to use that wing connector - when you pose them flying you always worry they'll drop off. Thankfully the wings go in really firm (when I first opened them, I was wondering why the wings wouldn't go all the way in, then when I used the base adaptor I understood) and so far there have been no accidents while moving them while holding their heads. Both are awesome figures! I take back what I said about their colours not being bright and vivid. When you see them in the box the colours look dull because both figures are wrapped in so many layers of plastic the colours have become opaque. The hair pieces, especially, have extra plastic protection around them to dull the colours even more. Once you open the box and remove the plastic sheets both Ikaros' brownish-pink colour and Nymph's bright blue colour will really stand out! I had to rearrange my entire Nendo shelf just to make room to put them in nice places - the side spots I had remaining just didn't do them justice. My only complaint is that you can't pose either figure with their mantles on unless you use the straight arm pieces. If you want Ikaros to draw her bow, or Nymph to eat her crisps (or pose with that cute finger on her lips) you need to remove the mantles and pose them with just the naked chain around their neck (a separate accessory). I can't remember if Ikaros had to remove her mantle when she entered battlemode in the anime, though, so maybe it's canon.

I can't wait for Astrea - her colours are the prettiest in the anime, and hopefully her Nendo will do her justice!

Does anyone know how well these amiami figures compare to Nendoroids if I put them side by side? There's no Nendo Astrea, and this figure looks like a decent quality.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiami-Sora-no-Oto...=item4cf40877a0

It says she's about 105mm tall, which would make her about Nendo size (although she looks more like a puchi in terms of quality). Does anyone have her (or the other two) displayed with their Nendo collection and how well do they stand up?

*love chibi Astrea* "Baka baka"
