QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jun 9 2018, 12:03 AM) Not going to be feasible, unless your new router will be handling all the routing, and the Amina is only on passive mode. Are you using VoIP? You know your Maxis username and password? i not using the VOIP... the maxis username and password is which one? for VOIP or for the broadband? i currently using Unifi BTU and using Unifi lan 2... can i just switch the router without the VOIP?

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jun 9 2018, 08:05 AM) Ok good, it is much easier than if you are not using VoIP. Maxis PPPoE username and password. So, your username will be ‘xxxx@home.maxis.com.my’ or ‘xxxxx@public.maxis.com.my’ and password will be a bunch of numbers or letters or mixture of both, you need to ask Maxis for it. So, just to confirm, you are not using VoIP, which is your phone, or IPTV? What is your budget for a new router, hw big is your house, and how many devices accessing the internet? 2 story semi D with 3800 sqf with around 15-20 device connected most time.. my house has 14 people budget probably around RM300 and must hv good QOS management

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jun 9 2018, 09:34 AM) Your house is big and it sounds like there will be many devices accessing the Internet at any one point. Honestly, bro, if you want my opinion, RM300 is not enough. If you want good proper QOS management, you have to invest in an Asus router and they don’t come cheap. You are buying for quality. The cheapest you can do is the Asus RT-AC1300UHP. The next router up is either the Asus RT-AC68U, or the best router out there now, the Asus RT-AC86U. Yes, they are really expensive, but you have to ask yourself if you are using the Internet everyday, and since there are 14 people in the house, and you might have guests as well, I would really recommend you go get the best router out there. It is your choice. It is really the best investment. Bro, Is all this router can replace aminia router from maxis ??

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jun 9 2018, 11:08 AM) Yes, as I say, you need the Maxis PPPoE username and password. You sure you are not using phone or IPTV right? If you are, then you can’t change router. That is the reason why I dislike Maxis and change to Unifi, as their router sucks and I can’t change unless I do some advanced configuration. I hv Unifi router.. is that one can be use??
