QUOTE(ha5h @ May 3 2014, 09:57 AM) Thanks. I'm actually doing that at the moment. Just want to move more of the dhcp management to my own router. The maxis router is a pain to configure, especially with static ips and port forwards. I'm just trying to figure a way to bypass it but have the added headache of the IPTV stream. I don't have iptv but I'm running the Mikrotik rb951 as my main router off the ONU doing the ppoe login and supplying the wifi connectivity. The router is configured to pass the voip vlan info down to the Thomson box working as an adapter for voip only. I suppose the same principle should work for iptv?I'm running an Asus AC66U at the moment and tried the asus firmware but couldn't get the IPTV working with it, hence the current setup is ONU --> Maxis Router (wireless off) --> AC66U. Any thoughts on this will be helpful. |

QUOTE(ywkwy @ May 12 2014, 09:32 AM) Yup, you're not getting free calls. You're just using a different method to access your Maxis voip phone account. So all calls will still be charged to that account. In the ftth package, Maxis gives a certain number of free minutes to various call destinations. |

[Copy from my other post]
So I gave up trying to connect my voip direct from my Fibrehome ONU as nobody here seems to know how. Instead, bought a Mikrotik to be the modem and put the Thomson downstream for voip duties only. You see, in my house I need a fixed line phone. But the stupid Thomson is still so unreliable even in this reduced role, hanging every day or 2. So what to do, I bought an Obihai 200 and connected that to the Mikrotik instead. Now, happy days, no more Thomson issues... |
