Just got the maxis fibre line at my home, currently using the standard technicolor router provided by maxis. The signal quite bad on my 1st floor of my terrace house. I went through some of the post here, any other recommendation on the router replacement or just get a AP? TP-Link? Asus? to increase signal and bandwidth especially on the 1st floor.

My old Maxis Router Thomson TG784n start working abnormal and connection keep on dropping and frequent restart require.

I contacted Maxis Helpline, said if WIFI router faulty can replace for free. Anyone experience free replacement even out of warranty.

Not sure how much I can trust them.

Too bad I'm using VoIP which the router hard to find  ... let see the investigation outcome.

guys anyone knows if Netgear Nighthawk will work with Maxis VOIP?
I only knows it can work with Unifi and HyppTV with VLAN tagging

hey guys i've been trying to get in the huawei modem but i seems to cant get in the modem webpage. which LAN port should i actually connect my cable? is it correctly still LAN1?

then that means i cant modifiy to use the maxis router for VOIP and custom router for internet?   

DISCLAIMER: This is only on Asus RT-AC86U, dont know about other router

well actually, i did something simple and it works

from the picture, we can see that RT-AC86U 'supports' VoIP.

what i did was just connect a LAN cable to LAN3 port on my Asus router and connect to the WAN port on the Maxis router. The result is that i got VoIP from the Maxis router and internet from the AC86U, the rest are just disabling internet/wifi on the Maxis router and connect the phone jack to the router

Hi, just came this thread to upgrade my standard 30mbps maxis setup.

I want to stream videos from pc/router on 1st floor to ground floor and 2nd floor for phone/tablet as well as ground floor android media player.

The TS post is 2 yrs old....any recommendation for best router in terms of speed ?

can the tg784n v3 be used as a repeater? the other day i called maxis and i asked the technician and he said can. I didn't ask details coz i called for something else.

Need some guidance. I use to have this setup for Maxis:

Alcatel > Asus Router (For WiFi) > Thompson (Just for phone)

All worked fine no problem and the my Asus just stopped working recently, so I got a TP-Link AC5400. But i cant seem to get the phone working. My connection is

Alcatel (LAN2) > TP-Link (LAN4) > Thompson

The IPTV section of the setting is Default:

I'm new to maxis fibre. Got few questions before apply maxis fibre.
There is free phone call bundle with package.
1.Normal phone can use other than dect phone?
2.The cable for connect router to phone is nomal phone line cable? Just 2 wire, or 4 wire.
3. Is ok connect multi phone to one output? So that several phone rings when incoming call
4. Total is how many devices for maxis fibre service
5. Instalation charges? Website says waived but agent says rm100+

Replying to this as I had my problem fixed by the Maxpert that install my new 30 mbps package who came to collect the old Maxis Thomson router.

Background: Long-time 10 mbps RM118/mo customer, recently upgrade to the 30 mbps package due to the promo 139/mo. 

According to the Maxpert, on the TM ONU (Huawei HG8240w for me), port LAN2 is assigned to new Maxis customers. This is the port you connect the Maxis router to the ONU for internet.

However for upgrade, or in my case apply for new package, TM assigned port LAN3 for that, as one ONU can accommodate multiple account in the same location. Until I cancel the old account, LAN2 port is still "open" and can use.

So in my case, TM finally finish processing my cancellation of the old 10mbps account and they close the LAN2 port, so now I must use LAN3 port for the ONU->Router connection, instead of LAN2 port.

Hope this can help anyone facing similar issue in the future. 

anyone know how to set up archer c1200 to huawei HG8240H (white color modem) for maxis fibre... can’t seem to connect to the internet!!:(
