QUOTE(kurogane @ Jun 14 2012, 07:10 PM) Hmmm... okay. I will try anyways I believe this is the guide? and if so, wow. i don't understand a thing. (big time network noob here) well, i just want an additional router to utilize the 300N network infrastructure in my house. so yeah. i'm not planning to migrate anything (VoIP, PPPoE etc.) to my new router. And is VLAN capable router compulsory if i were to connect my router to the thomson and then relay the signals to my wireless device? Also for OP, regarding the VOIP SIP settings, here's a dump of the output from telnet from my default config. Not sure if this will help or not. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Additionally, the VLAN tagging list CODE :eth vlan list Vid Name --- ---- 1 default 2 dummy 18 HotSpot 621 HSI_vlan 721 SME_vlan 821 MGMT_vlan 822 VoIP_vlan 823 VOD+BTV_vlan CODE :eth bridge vlan iflist Vid Name Bridge interfaces (* = untagged) --- ---- -------------------------------- 1 default OBC*, ethport1*, ethport2*, ethport3*, ethport4*, virt*, WLAN* 2 dummy Eth_WAN* 18 HotSpot Eth_WAN 621 HSI_vlan OBC, Eth_WAN 721 SME_vlan OBC, Eth_WAN 821 MGMT_vlan OBC, Eth_WAN 822 VoIP_vlan OBC, Eth_WAN 823 VOD+BTV_vlan OBC, Eth_WAN You can grep the info by telnetting to your thomson using the Administrator id. *i'm doing alot of bluray video streaming across devices, wireless file transfers, remote desktop and so on. that's why 300N is a must for me but this thomson shit is giving me trouble. |

QUOTE(kurogane @ Jun 20 2012, 04:09 PM) Here. Is it that hard to go thru ONE page of replies? okay. So basically connect both router through any LAN port right? or from WAN port of my custom router to the LAN port of the thomson?» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on June 20, 2012, 4:14 pm Actually now that I reread your post, doesn't sound like my guide is what you want. If you want to use your 300N wireless, set that router to DHCP. Then plug your router to the Thomson. this should turn it in to a wireless AP. Then configure your 300N wireless router settings. Configure the wireless on the Thomson to disable it of you don't plan on having so many WiFi network at home as well. |
