i tot semi only 5k go service
*
Yupp..10k km service interval. I purposely asked the service personnel & she refers to what i believe is a Preve maintenance schedule and said "Preve service interval is every 10k km" no matter whether we use semi syn or fully syn oil...

bro, im noob about EO.. whats the differences between thick and thin engine oil, 10W 30 and 15w 50? the performance? mind to share? thanks..
*
I'm not an oil man also. But the basic that i've learnt is, thicker oil will make your car feels heavier. Thinner oil will give better engine response & pick up nod.gif

svc center call d... total RM186..

Go to SC & please see the service items in details. When i went for 1st service last time, that's the price the SC gave me (RM18x if i'm not mistaken). If my memory still serves me well, that price is including the labour charge . So by deducting the labour charge & screen washer liquid, the total service price is about RM133.xx. Kindly check the service details (in the service sheet) first bro...

in that case, mind to share why do u want a thicker oil since it will get ur car sluggish in performance? better thick oil for turbo charge engine perhaps?  hmm.gif
*
Did i said that? I used 10W-30 engine oil (Syntium 800) which is thinner than the 15W-50 engine oil (Syntium 1000). On the other way round, 15W-50 engine oil is thicker than the 10W-30 engine oil wink.gif

Bro Dhuang,

Since that u already got 'good relationship' with the CAT team..i wanna ask u a favour..hehe. Could u ask them whether the side mirrors can be reprogram to unfold when we unlock the door or when we start the car or when engaging the gear knob to R or D position?

My wife getting annoyed from day to day due to this 'canggih' feature of the Preve's side mirrors (did not unfold when we reverse the car or when we move forward at a very low speed which is useful when we accessing the road from the roadside). Need to press the unfold button on each occasion..haihh

Good idea...it looks cool when we drive that the mirror unfolds...
But annoying when we try to reverse...

Do check with the CAT team on this...it would be much appreciated...  thumbup.gif

It really looks cool but unpractical for me especially when u at the road side & going to access the road with the side mirrors still folded.

Cool also but still impractical. By the time the side mirrors finished unfold, we might already hit something at the back..lol

The same way it folds when we lock the car...

Valid reason indeed. Side mirrors unfold when we start the engine or when we engage the gear knob to R or D or S is a better option smile.gif

I found a site that provides the papago x8.5 but need to know following things at below in order to get the correct version of papago.
e.g.
Port: COM 1
Baud Rate: 4800
Protocol: NMEA

I had downloaded a exe file from the site provided to detect the port & baud rate but I have no idea on how to run the file on HU.
*
If i remember this correctly, someone has posted about the HU port & baud rate before..kindly search on the previous previous post bro..

Bro,

According to CAT, Side Mirror auto fold function has something to do with Central Locking mechanism. I.e. the switch to unfold the side mirror has been set moving forward with certain speed the mirror will then unfold due to the door locking mechanism also engage in the same time.

I guess that that's the way it is. If we try to set it other way than that, 1) We'll definitely temper with the wiring. 2) Don't know to whether it is possible or not to attach it to our gear knob movement as the key trigger for activating it then.

Those wigh high skill electronical wiring may know about it though.

Just sharing with u guys the outcome.
*
Hmm..definitely i'm not going to temper with the wiring. As we all know it, Preve got BCM that control the behavior of many features of the car. What i'm asking for is whether there's an option in Preve's BCM that they can reconfigure it (the BCM) so that the side mirror will unfold when we start the engine instead of the current setting icon_question.gif

Anyway, your effort is so much appreciated bro wink.gif

I wanna ask u all whether it's a design failure or what.

My driver's side windshield water spray is spraying directly to the wiper arm instead to the windshield. I've complaint this matter to SC during the 1st service & they did adjust the angle of the nozzle (angled up). But it ended up with the water being sprayed across the windshield over the roof..lol. So they adjust back the nozzle (angled down) so that the water will be sprayed straight to the windshield, but then, it's back to its original condition (water being sprayed to the wiper arm)..i guess it is a shameful design failure of the Preve icon_question.gif

So what about the others? Is it the same thing happens to your Preve?

Hmm.. Maybe the wiper nozzle is kinda loose. Still, if u can do it DIY, better than keep sending to SC for stupid small thing like that. But I notice that the spray isn't that powerful no matter how's the angle is set though.. hmm.gif

Working today bro?

QUOTE(Junn @ Jun 24 2012, 10:47 AM)
OOO.. Mine ok wor. Sendiri adjust angle lu. Use a pin
*
The current nozzle angle set by the SC (when i complaint about it) is quite high already. The water is being sprayed at the top of the windshield already & some water sprays to the roof. I think if i DIY it using a pin (adjusting the nozzle angle up), i'm sure enough that the water will be sprayed across the windshield & lubricating the roof instead..lol doh.gif I'm pretty sure it's a design failure. & i also wish that, instead of a line of water spraying at each nozzle, it's so much better if the water could be sprayed evenly on the windshield as those offers in the Vios or even the Forte. So Proton designers, if u ever read this, kindly take note this as future improvements. Simple matters but it really matters & practical wink.gif

& yea bro..working today @ Alor Setar whistling.gif

Mine normal je
*
Ohh..sorry for did not say it clearly. I meant the water will hit the wiper arm when the arm is not moving. The water should not hit the wiper arm regardless the wiper arm is moving or not..that should be the way right? I've driven so many cars & i did not come across this 'feature' on those cars.

I think when the wiper arm is steady. That's not a normal I think. Like they didn't check the the thing on QC..
*
Yupp..u are right..when the wiper arm is not moving. That's surely abnormal. I still think that the Proton designers overlook this issue (designed the nozzles too low or perhaps to near to the wiper arm)

The nozzle faulty? I think the nozzle loose and cannot be adjusted manually. You simply have to change the unit i guess.

Next visit to SC, ask them to change. Under warranty. Tell them whenever adjust the nozzle will get back to its original position. I believe they can change both the nozzles for you. Its quite cheap. Just push them and they'll change the thing.
*
Perhaps u are right..a faulty nozzle. The current nozzle however still can be manually adjusted. But, if i adjust the nozzle higher up to bypass the wiper arm, it will bypass the windshield too & spray the water straight over the roof icon_question.gif

Hitting wiper arm every time which is stupid!
Still don't have time to adjust it, must wait long time didn't wash the car and it's in dirty condition only willing to do that... tongue.gif

Jumpa geng with the same 'feature' already..& yeah..it surely looks stupid. i believe many others might having the same issue. Please give feedback here if u all facing the same issue so that we can make a conclusion whether this issue is an isolated cases or a major cases rolleyes.gif

Anyone here update the GPS map, try it myself but unsuccessful. Can any sifu here give some info for the update tq
*
I wanna change the navigational software to Papago instead if possible. Papago maps got many POIs & being updated regularly (monthly). The current navigational software supplied by Proton came with a very limited POIs on the map coz i failed to find many POIs that i've search for. My wife even use back her mobile Papago PND (Personal Navigation Device) in the Preve by attaching it to the front windshield. She found out that though the routing is fast (the onboard GPS provided by Proton), the POI search function is not so user friendly & many POIs are not in the map which is very2 inconvenience to her. She works as journalist & always on the move to find any news. So, GPS is a must for her to find places..yet, the Proton-supplied onboard GPS is useless to her due to many shortcomings.
