anyone have good & free exif viewer tool for win7?
want to check my shutter counter and some exif info's in RAW files.

myshuttercount.com is fine, but uploading the RAW file onto it is a pain. tongue.gif

f5calvin, they still look good to me. smile.gif
To me, I feel like the D700 or any FX body will have edge anyhow.

Anyway, just to add some stuff to the discussion, maybe it is because of the metering?
I have never used an FX body or Nano+Gold ring lenses. tongue.gif. But both 70-200 and 24-70 are already awesome lenses to start with. smile.gif

From the two pics, below is what i gathered from the flickr EXIF.

d700 pic
----------
1/1000
f/2.8
110mm (110mm effective on 35mm)
ISO 800
0 EV
Shutter Priority Mode
Center-weighted average
Lens 70-200mm f/2.8

d5100 pic
-----------
1/800
f/3.5
58mm (87mm effective on 35mm)
ISO 640
0 EV
Aperture Priority Mode
Multi-Segment (Matrix)
24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jun 27 2012, 11:03 AM)
Are you trying to show 1st photo very sharp, 2nd photo soft?

Did you apply sharpening on 1st photo? Seems like got hard sharpening.
For 2nd photo, the softness can be due to she lean a little backwards and did you apply any sharpening?

For newer models (e.g. D7K, D5100), by default, the preset has low sharpening value for JPG. It's been discussed before, for older models users, the default preset applies +7 sharpening if not wrong, while the newer models preset default to +3 (I think, forgot).

As far RAW file, you will have to apply your own sharpening as by default, it doesn't apply those presets into the RAW file, unless you load the RAW file into ViewNX or CaptureNX, as it will load the Camera Presets.

potentially right too. smile.gif

Want to get advises from the experienced. Is it worthy to get a close up filter or should I just go ahead for macro len? huh.gif
*
- How much r u willing to spend? ---> close up or extension tubes are the cheapest route. rclxms.gif
- What kind of pictures r u interested to take? ---> may determine your interested focal length or DOF that u r looking for.
- What lens do u alrdy have? ---> potentially just add close up lens or extension tubes.
- Ready/Willing to use tripods when doing macro shots? ---> VR may help you if u want to do handheld shots.
- If go by macro lens, willing to use manual or do u want auto focus? ---> I'm using tamron SP AF 90 (no VR lens) and sometimes pair with Raynox & tripod ... I do try them with extension tubes too (macro+ET+raynox). But I don't have nice pics to share.. hehe. I'm noob.

There r many options out there. Macro lens, close up lens like raynox or others, extension tubes or ... a combination of these three for a supper macro works! hehe
I'm also a newbie ... smile.gif laugh.gif

pic spam :

Which one looks nice/appealing to you guys eh?
Was playing around with single light source, editing and tones/colors.
**All shot with D3100 + Tamron SP AF 90

color correction gels are good to have and gives nice results if used properly. last time i started w/ SB800 then 900 gels. then got a few set from Nikonian academy, i think about 30+ per set w/ 2 sizes. then recently jst bought from ebay, lee filters 9 gels set (US$5.00+3.70 [shipping]).. i got 3 sets to get cheaper shipping. 2 set is color correction and 1 set for creative lighting which includes ND gels xD always wanted to try ND flash gels hopefully is useful.
*
Ooh cool. I shud get Lee brand is it? From what I read and saw on Youtube, they mostly recommend Lee.

nissin di622 mark ii or yongnuo 565ex is a better one?
i wanna get a sb700 bt tight budget now ..
*
If you don't mind, can check my thread and signature below. I'm selling Yongnuo YN-560II and YN-565EX ... brand new and several units in stock ready to be shipped. biggrin.gif
Thanks.

I'm using Nissin Di622MII myself and a yongnuo YN-560. The Nissin is not bad at all for a start and low cost budget, of course can't compete with SB speedlites lor. Nissin Di622MII works fine with Yonguo RF-602/603 triggers too.
*Though I'm selling the YN-560II and YN-565EX, I haven't tried them individually yet. Haha. Just selling as part time. But from the looks, features and reviews, I'm inclined to the 565EX myself. blush.gif

Both looks exactly the same? same monitor or different monitor?
*

not sure ..havent put them side by side. But from what I see, i feel they are the same. Because on monitor was warmer (normal desktop LCD) and the other was cooler+bright (LED laptop monitor). The warmer becomes cooler and the cooler becomes warmer. I'll get them side by side and see ...huhu.
But overall, I'm starting to like the calibrated colors more on both monitors.
