QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 15 2012, 05:12 PM) I tried 300mm f/4... old lens, focusing is darn slow... thats why the body also got setting for 'release + focus'.I set my D700 to focus priority on AF-C mode... my camera like bursting at 2fps due to the lens not able to keep up with my 8fps.. LOL! 70-200 VR2 keeps up easily, even with TC-20E III also no issue! u probably have it set on just focus priority. |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 15 2012, 06:15 PM) Yes, I mentioned earlier already I set it to focus priority. No point taking the shot if my D700 isn't focusing on it. thats why 'release + focus'.Nope, last minute only noticed and too tight to apply media pass access T_T its different from 'release' only cos it has the word 'focus' in it it slows it down abit, but makes more frames in focus, compared to 'release' only which just fires away at full fps without caring if anything in focus. |

QUOTE(opfish @ Jul 16 2012, 10:50 AM) Guys, D7000 can of cos trigger both since sb-26 got su-4.Need some guidance. Is it possible to trigger older flash units with the newer one using CLS? I've just bought an SB-26 last nite, which is intended to be used together with an SB-900. I'm using D7000 BTW. How should I set them up? Or should I invest in wireless triggers perhaps? Thanks. but that also means u will probably need to set them both manually, ie. no ttl. |

QUOTE(opfish @ Jul 16 2012, 12:40 PM) I haven't got the time to test them yet. So all these are some presumptions that I should expect before testing out. From what I read, SB26 is not CLS compatible. However, since it comes with a built-in optical slave, I'm sure I'll be able to trigger it using pop-up flash of my D7000 in commander mode. It has TTL feature but not i-TTL like SB900, so still need to adjust the the flash settings manually which I'm totally fine with it. I've been using manual mode on SB900, and SB26 will be my kicker/fill/rim light. ya, thats what su-4 does...anything will trigger it.One thing I notice, I can limit the flash unit usage only to myself by setting the CLS group and channel on SB900 but not SB26. Means on CLS, SB26 can triggered by other peeps' flashes too. Is that the case? pre-flash from sb700 in ttl mode also will trigger it, so there probably will be sync issues...thats why preferably both in manual mode. i use my nikon flashes in su-4 mode sometimes with my fuji x10. |

QUOTE(leonghan @ Jul 23 2012, 11:47 AM) I'm looking for a used set for 55-300VR for my first tele-lens, but seem like not much ppl selling at lyn marketplace...Initially was thinking to go for 70-300VR but just over my budget imo, no need waste time in lyn.*poisoning from some photos here... go check http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/ftz/index.php that place sells faster than lyn or photomalaysia |

QUOTE(leonghan @ Jul 23 2012, 12:27 PM) QUOTE(amduser @ Jul 23 2012, 12:28 PM) 55-300 is VR2 since it offers up to 4-stops of stabilization.says so also on nikon's website. http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/lens/zoom/...ed_vr/index.htm QUOTE(leonghan @ Jul 23 2012, 12:36 PM) but such as 18-200 also got VR II right ?? you want to verify here for what? nikon so pain stakingly created a website and paid hosting fees that can support thousands of hits per day...and becomes nothing? Because i saw some ppl selling at ftz stated that VR II =.= thats y i need to verify here http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/lens/zoom/...d_vr2/index.htm but 18-200 got 2. the older version is called VR1, just for the sake of it but its actually VR2 tech. the newer VR2 one modifies it abit like adding a zoom lock...and moves the ribbon cable that connects to the VR and prevents it from breaking in certain usage. QUOTE(f5calvin @ Jul 23 2012, 12:39 PM) so do u use canon or nikon? guess that ends the discussion since we're in nikon thread |
