do anyone use 24-70 f/2.8 here in DX?
many people giving good review for this lens, of course price is nice as well...
after using kitlens for some time, i am planning to upgrade. the first idea is tamron 17-50, but there are people commenting its focus not that good in low light...but i have seen this lens is not too bad in term of sharpness, is acceptable for me.
but, it seems 24-70 covers bigger range and i try out the difference of 17 and 24, it just 1 step of me...and i think 24-70 can consider a multipurpose lens due to it range, portrait should able to handle as well...how do u all think?
most reviews are commenting if budget allows, choose the nikon that pair up with the body fits the best...is this worth for a big throw? any other things that i need to be concern?

I have a 28-70mm AF-S on D300. It is worth considering the 24-70mm if your budget allows and have plan to go FF or if photography is your money making career. Otherwise, a 17-55mm is the best choice. Tamron is very very poor in low light while Sigma have better chance in low light. How about trying to get the 16-50mm F/2.8 Tokina? Fast AF and quite deadly in accuracy.
24-70mm = 42-105mm on DX so its not within the sweet spot as a general lens but more a portrait lens to me. Do note, buying the 24-70mm will need to have a wide angle lens to cover the wider part. A 12-24mm DX is a good option

If you need the sharpness, contrast, go for the 24-70mm its a future proof lens
