Some people are just "corky" and I stopped street photography since my horrible incident in Petaling Street. I was taking pics of some back valley barber (yeah they still exist in 2002!)

Was having fun with the shooting and the florist shop owner a few meters away threw the broom to me and shouted at me DONT SHOOT DONT SHOOT. SHOOT WHAT.. and he charged to me like a bull. I was timid that time so I just shove my camera in the bag and ran.

I was at the junction towards Pasar Seni LRT station, I can still hear him shouting, "yes keep running! you are not a guy, you have a short ***"

It was humorous and angry at the same time tongue.gif

Do take note of the DOF falloff on the bokeh. Depends on where you focus and where the DOF starts and falloff. Softness of skins is something that you shouldn't worry about. I love the skin actually, feels like tofu tongue.gif

QUOTE(lpyycy @ Jun 28 2012, 10:59 PM)
do anyone use 24-70 f/2.8 here in DX?
many people giving good review for this lens, of course price is nice as well...
after using kitlens for some time, i am planning to upgrade. the first idea is tamron 17-50, but there are people commenting its focus not that good in low light...but i have seen this lens is not too bad in term of sharpness, is acceptable for me.

but, it seems 24-70 covers bigger range and i try out the difference of 17 and 24, it just 1 step of me...and i think 24-70 can consider a multipurpose lens due to it range, portrait should able to handle as well...how do u all think?

most reviews are commenting if budget allows, choose the nikon that pair up with the body fits the best...is this worth for a big throw? any other things that i need to be concern?  rclxub.gif

I have a 28-70mm AF-S on D300. It is worth considering the 24-70mm if your budget allows and have plan to go FF or if photography is your money making career. Otherwise, a 17-55mm is the best choice. Tamron is very very poor in low light while Sigma have better chance in low light. How about trying to get the 16-50mm F/2.8 Tokina? Fast AF and quite deadly in accuracy.

24-70mm = 42-105mm on DX so its not within the sweet spot as a general lens but more a portrait lens to me. Do note, buying the 24-70mm will need to have a wide angle lens to cover the wider part. A 12-24mm DX is a good option biggrin.gif If you need the sharpness, contrast, go for the 24-70mm its a future proof lens

I use it too on my D300 before getting FX body.
Hey, is that a new 1.75x crop factor Nikon DX body you're using?  tongue.gif

I think you meant 28-70mm = 42-105mm...

Oppps tongue.gif Ya, I got used to my 28-70 and refer to it many times. Bad habit! Thanks tho hehe.

Hmmm.. i love the colors actually. For seaside shots, I tend to love a little yellowish hue and you got it spot on! HDR wise, i dont see any problem so far. Little to no clipping from my LCD.

Personally, create your own style in your shots, that makes you different from others biggrin.gif

If @ 300mm and cant do 1/250s, the person need to relearn on how to do elbow to chest bracing and sniping breathing control. I handheld 300mm f/2.8 and can do 1/200s biggrin.gif

Its a photoshop effect. Displacement effect. An abstract digital art form that took the world by storm as the style were greatly mastered and used in the year between 2006 ~ 2010.

i noticed that many people like to put a rubber band at the zoom ring and focus ring of their lens, what's the purpose of that?
*
anti zoom creeping purpose. But many put it just for show and fashion tongue.gif

QUOTE

By fitting the LensBand exactly over the joint between the zoom ring and static lens barrel, you can create a much smoother damped zoom action and prevent the zoom from tromboning when carried, or creeping during long exposures when the camera is angled up or down. This issue is not tackled by stabilisation and very small amounts of zoom creep can affect exposures as short as 1/30th without your realising. You don’t get why the zoom appears to be not so sharp – that’s because you do not realise you, or gravity, have caused a tiny shift in focal length during the exposure.
