VR on 24-85 is just a side show to make it look more tempting.
the main thing is they have obviously upgraded the optics.
if they didnt put VR, i can bet u way way more ppl will complain why got no VR.

the basics of cos is to try to get white looking white, or black is black.
ur color dropper or matcher or whatever u use will of cos help.

so for that monster hand girl, is the blouse white / red? cos color says its a very light grey.
also would look nicer if the flash on the left is higher up, so you can get hair light on top instead of hotspot on her butt.

Hmmm thanks!

I'll have a look at it.. That was what I was aiming for but didn't manage to get that rim light on her hair due to space constraint and didn't have any assistant on site.. But nevertheless it's still my fault!

space doesnt matter that actually.
2m away also can if u got the right modifiers.

2nd one.
1st one seems over abit, and brings out abit more noise too.

Added on June 23, 2012, 12:38 pmif ur concern is about the car.
you can crop tighter and still include the spot light on the left...tho about 10% of it will be cut off...but the effect is still there.
that way also u get rid of those ppl standing around on the left side.

any other than prime lens?

anything at least 50mm onwards, or something that can control it like those perspective control / tilt shift lenses.
obviously if indoors, then ur going to run out of space with a 50mm...thats where those wider PC lenses help.

the easiest way that some ppl use to test is to line up batteries diagonally from each other.

You got N8 ma. N8 still very good until today, still outperform the rest of the smartphone camera.
Smartphone camera will be smartphone camera, can't really compare with a proper PnS, especially on the controls.
I only wish they include more controls on smartphone cameras, like shutter priority and such.

On side note, if you want to read about the low light performance, here's one for your to check out, they did ISO test and also actually test it against Micro 4/3 and EOS 550D.
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_808_pureview...-review-775.php
*
obviously if test against m4/3 and aps-c sure 808 lose.
but it also loses against S90 which has smaller sensor, which is what gsmarena didnt test.

But seems it did comparable to PEN E-PL2.

Previously they did blind test, as in post a few sample photos, and ask people to guess and vote.
Result seems most people voted the photo which was taken by 808; but that's under daylight.

As for low light, I do agree the noise is pretty bad, but it's still way better than any smartphones camera available in the market, by quite big difference, plus, another great part is the details captured.
I won't really compared it to those PnS though, I might prefer the PnS due to the better controls, but I wouldn't carry the PnS everyday.
The good thing about smartphone is the versatility, plus it comes with great video capture with great audio. So, it's a plus; Well, for those have babies or kids, it'll be very useful.
*
the only thing keeping me away from the 808 is the stupid micro sim.

That's one of it, but you can get a micro-SIM replacement from carriers at small fee, and you can buy an adapter for micro-SIM at very very small fee. This adapter allows you to use your micro-SIM like normal SIM.

The other issues are like the screen resolution mainly, which my friend keep complaining about.

Added on top:
Anyway, I didn't have a M4/3 to do proper test, but previously my office event, I use my colleague's E-P3 to capture, the output quality seems 808 did better, but of course, the PEN I'm using fast shutter speed to capture action, while the 808 have no option to do so, end up with mostly failed shot.
Seems dpreview will be reviewing the 808, so let's see what's the outcome.
*
the best option for me is to pay maxis RM15 / month for multi-sim service, so i can have up to 5sims on 1 number...so can use on my other phones tongue.gif
the adapter i read is not recommended for some phones cos it may damage the sim card contact pins.

First gen samsung galaxy S have the screen color cacat like S II ?

I find it S III much better, view photo also much accurate
*
my S2 screen color not cacat.
it all depends on what brightness its set at, lower it is less contrast and less accurate.
