Yeap, have 'got movement' feel to the panning pics.
Not sure how your original looks like... but NEF can do this,

No worries ;D Just close down the aperture and it will be fine! Happens to most lens wide open with aperture 1.4 and larger.

lets say you are in middle of crowd of SNDS concert, and you spot one of the SNDS member having wardrobe malfunction.... then you got 50mm f/1.8 lens only (or 18-55mm) (assuming, refering some newbie thread that goldfries posted)....
OH so kasian, no zoom to shoot.
now you will wish you will get 55-105mm kit lens  whistling.gif  brows.gif  tongue.gif
*
that time my 55-300 will be useful, 300x1.5 crop = 450mm whistling.gif

imagine is on nikon 1 drool.gif

I've been playing with old AI/AIS lenses lately, one thing that troubles me is that, some of my shots appear to be, oof. So I decided to do a little research, came up with this thing called "focusing screen". Any idea where I can find this thing? hmm.gif

The Buddhists "9 Deities" festival is coming up soon and I plan to shoot a bit of photos.

Flickr one a bit sharper I think when the size is 'smaller' but the exposure is bumped up, everything is exactly the same except exposure, that time people say my Fb/G+ one underexposed D:

but one thing for sure is that, comparing FB and G+, they're from the same JPEG file, the quality difference damn besar.
btw, @amduser
I didn't know sad.gif the prayer event sudah over. I asked my mum and she said it's not the 9 Deities (Gao Wong Ya) prayer. So I'm not sure what they pray though. hmm.gif but whatever it is, 9 Deities prayer is coming soon I guess, whenever got something I just like to shoot biggrin.gif

nvm....i dont really follow this kind of festival as well, so it doesn't really bother me la tongue.gif

Well guys,If let's said I target for 16-85 for normal days lens...(Haven't buy and try but according the review this = poor man 17-55 f2.8) , 12-24 for the wide angle and 80-200 f2.8 for long range...Is this combo enough me to shoot in long term? (At least 10 years.) And now i aiming 16-85 first..then later go on with 80-200 f2.8 or 12-24 wide angle lens?? (All my lens i plan to buy 2nd hand...)
*
get nikkor 18-300

70-200 and 80-200 is simply big and heavy to carry around, with 18-300 all the focal length are covered except super duper wide and super duper tele range

even though sacrifice a bit of low light but you still can get good pictures

Actually according the review from rockwell and etc...18-200 and 16-85 almost the same optical and 16-85 slightly better only...But what i think....carry a 18-200 around...No way...Too heavy..so i go for 16-85...80-200 f2.8 maybe i will buy the f2.8 cause will shoot on some event sometimes...
*
event not necessary need wide aperture

i believe 18-200 or 18-300 is lighter and more versatile than carrying 2 lens, especially the 80-200

take note that 80-200 cannot auto focus on DX body without motor

u mean compression between subject n fg/bg when using longer focal length?  hmm.gif

read it b4.. i think some call it perspective distortion...
*
the easiest to notice this is from those olympic photos and the olympic opening video, they use a lot of telephoto lens

if i'm not mistaken this thing got no auto focus right?

imagine 2x crop mode @ 1700mm, that is like 3400mm i think can do a close up shoot from one end to the other end of the olympic stadium laugh.gif

no matter the mode it will be out of focus, nothing to do with shutter or aperture or ISO, its the fourth element, FOCUS. U need to teach your friend to listen for the focus BEEP. and also move from SINGLE AF point to MULTI AF point. That should increase the in Focus results.
*
i usually off AF assist light and the beep for pure silent mode

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 16 2012, 11:52 AM)

indoor low light, even f2.8 also suffer quite a bit

maybe should really switch to auto area next time, i usually use single area AF and seems like they dont know how to see the red dot in the camera hmm.gif

"Gambar ini dirakamkan di Hutan Lipur Ulu Paip, Kedah. Saya kerap berkunjung ke sini kerana perjalanan dari rumah hanya mengambil masa 10 minit sahaja. Dirakamkan secara vertorama dari 9 exposures yang berbeza dan dijanakan sebagai HDR image."

Featured Nikon Club Photographer - Sam Kranz

he is using long exposure for this picture, taking multiple shoots at different exposure then combine them together in post processing to proper expose foreground and background

for me, multi-exposure HDR is not necessary for this image but only long exposure shoots, the HDR can be done with single RAW file

other terms just google it

Food at low angle? hmm.gif it depends on the food I guess.
Send to Nikon center better. Sudah sot rasanya.
If pimple I might edit. Others I leave.
*
i used to remove away all the facial features include makup and pimples, if seems like i have to tone down my spot removal hmm.gif

well, i think is up to the photographer's preference

Went to Malaysia ANICOM Cosplay at 6th Floor, Sg Wang yesterday. The place is really low light and tight space with crowded people.. doh.gif

Had to use ISO 1600, F1.8, 1/125s for all shots. Some tight shots with the 50mm. sweat.gif

nikon and 35mm 1.8 or 1.4 is best for this kind of situation icon_rolleyes.gif

50mm in sungai wang is kinda hard especially for DX body

QUOTE(piscesguy @ Aug 19 2012, 08:08 AM)
Most people uses big flash.

I think that venue not suitable for cosplay event lah, the lighting is terrible and the place is small..sigh. doh.gif

when i shoot in this kind of lightning i will say "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" to all the flasher who dont know how to flash

QUOTE(slimfox @ Aug 20 2012, 11:47 AM)
Guys I have a simple question.

My gear is D5100 with 35mm f1.8.

How come when my setting is set to AF-C with 3D tracking, meter is set to centre weighted, focus is A/M, my 1st shot is in focus but after that it becomes blur? Isn't the focus suppose to track the subject if the subject is within the 11 sensor points?

Sorry I can't post sample pictures cause it of my friend and not sure if he approves or not.
*
3D tracking doesn't work well with D5100 with only 11 points, too little AF points across the screen, you are better off with auto area or single area AF-C
