wifi tethering works with my s3 and ipad, so i don't see it doesn't work with imac. wifi thetering uses the wifi standards, it is not dependent on the hardware u use.

but if u use wifi tethering to manage your imac files than that's a different matter. coz the proprietary protocols for file transfer between imac and s3 is probably not compatible.

so far i use nearly 1 week my sgs3. reporting:

what wows me:
1. the multitasking. i can open skype, browse a few web pages, sms, whatsapp, and many more all simultaneously with no much lag. i think this is for me the most major.
2. don't seem to lag although i don't bother with task manager. just open and open programs like no tomorrow. i don't bother even long pressing the home button (to geeks - layman don't know how to kill processes, please don't bother teaching them they should kill processes. it is really a silly procedure coz isn't the system suppose to handle housekeeping for u? duh....)
3. the camera is very good - although i can't compare with iphone4s. but compared to ipad, well is like apple and oranges. ipad camera is not really a camera.
4. the baterry is very good, even under very heavy use can tahan at least 8 hours, which is my expectation.

what sucks:
1. the keyboard, they downgraded the swype, and never introduce anything better. the keyboard now sucks and looks like ios keyboard,
2. the s voice sucks big time. not practical at all. only the alarm seems like the only thing i do on svoice.

the dropbox feature is better than ipad btw. it allows u to automatically (without intervention) upload your photos to dropbox the moment you take it! amazing.

for ipad, after take it just sits there in your ipad. termenung syndrome. must go to photos and push it to dropbox than only can work. why no automation is beyond my understanding. can do on ICS why can't do ios?

can my s3 access icloud? yeah yeah i lazy to google

i looking for a harmonious cloud feature for my s3 and ipad. so far dropbox seems to be the best, although ipad has a substandard dropbox function

Update: wrong writeup above!. only pc dropbox download to hardrive. the other mobile device don't as in still remain in cloud.

this charging issue is hard to compare, coz it depends on what feature u turn on.

for me i am not kedekut power. i on everything and leave on the whole day. i leave my skype on the whole day. i get about 5-10 calls a day. and sms/whatsapp about 5 to 10 too. i use skype about 15 to 30 min. at 7pm i go home got about 30% spare. so ok.

oops u talking charging time. about 3-4 hours it feels. maybe less. using wall power. not the same with pc to phone charging.

none. actually the pebble blue has many shades of blue and grey depending on the lighting. it sometimes look gray, sometimes blue, sometimes pebble blue.

mobicalc is pretty good too. love the way it store history and can reuse the history anytime

i have not really measured up to the minute. i said it feels like 3+ hourse (maybe less). yeah, i do still browse when i charge. i don't open my pc anymore nowadays unless i do real work. so my leisure internet is on the phone

pc - work
ps3/wii -serious games. but now no time.
ipad - wife/children
blackberry -wife when children is crowding the ipad
s3 - everything else not covered above.

a end user answer: let it be. let android be your orang gaji. trust her to do the housekeeping for me

a geek answer: no, i must do it yourself. coz i don't trust android to kill apps. it may may not make the right decision. coz only a geek knows best what should be killed. besides, i love looking at processes. makes me not forget its a unix system at heart

btw, is there some kind of way to 5 finger the screen to close your current app?. like how ios does it (yeah ios is sometimes brilliant). i like it coz i don't need to support the back with another hand when i close. i can close apps with one hand while the s3 is resting vertically on my table.

iphone don't have? i thought ios is for all apple gadgets? yeah, i don't have iphone, only ipad. but why? that's another thing about ios i don't understand. why cannot just copy the functions from iphone to ipad. is not like is more work. in fact it should be less work. and i also don't understand why i keep bashing apple. must resist.

no, but rooting is essential to do it correctly. that's all. some people say "what can possibly go wrong". maybe they right. but when something goes wrong, they will say "dono how to read procedure ah?". rooting introduce new functions also la, if u like those than go for it.

even an innocent drop to the side of the phone, also crack! going naked with s3 is really asking for it.
