Tested AOKP Build 40 with Lean Kernel.
It's not as fast as CM9 ROM.
There's some minor/micro-lagging in some parts.

Test it with Trinity Kernel too, doesn't help much.

Rolling back to CM9 ROM.

what kernel is CM9 using? Trinity?

just something on trinity kernel w/ aokp.

I find that the color profile from trinity is a bit blueish and didn't really like it, but the kernel has made aokp so snappy, that it made me stay with it. I've trying d flashing to lean kernel after trinity due to the blue tint, but the performance difference is pretty huge.
No idea how Trinity managed to do it, so in the end I'm back to Trinity. After awhile I got used to the color profile (not really yet) and am enjoying the speed biggrin.gif

btw I like cm9's speed but there is a troublesome notification light bug that I get that I have to go for other rom. Even the nightly main thread complained about this. Hopefully it'll get saved in the near future.

I also noticed my launcher is smoother with Trinity kernel + AOKP b38 than the included kernel.  Maybe it's the overclocked GPU (I use the 384Mhz one).  But, Antutu returned a lower score, 5.9k only, opposed to 6k+ with pure b38.  Not that this is affecting my daily use, but it's strange.
*
Yup, that's also why I don't care about score, it just doesn't reflect real life usage.

I don't think its the oc'd gpu, other kernel has it too, but the performance isn't as good either, in fact oc'd gpu brings very negligible difference. using Trinity + aokp b40, the screen unlocking feels instant, there's really 0 lag, and every window transition feels snappy. Most importantly 0 reboot so far. Overall I'm pretty happy with it happy.gif and the blue tint, it doesn't feel as annoying once you're used to the color profile.

Justin Bieber OS is coming!  tongue.gif

Anything new about this OS? I hope it fixes all the GUI ugly parts and optimized all UI transition(as smooth as Apple's).

The next major upgrade to Android will be version 4.1 Jelly Bean, it has been announced at Google I/O today. Project Butter is the major new innovation in Android 4.1, focused on making the entire UI "fast, fluid and smooth." That includes triple buffering in the graphics pipeline, to ensure consistent frame rates with interface animations. Google's I/O demo showed two Galaxy Nexus devices side by side, one running Ice Cream Sandwich and the other on Jelly Bean, with the latter offering a significantly higher frame rate when navigating the Android UI.

It's also in first page. But not that obvious.
@phantomash I think you should change the arrangement. Make yakju under subtopic of its own then ppl can just Ctrl+F and get to Yakju easily. Now is hidden inside Quotation.

wait dry.gif it was actually someone else's idea to change it to updates. Now this. lol laugh.gif

its changed now.
