http://www.derkernel.com/ics-tuna.php#

there are so many stable tuna trinity kernel..but which is best for battery life and smooth..
*
there are no best , just choose the 1 that suit u best . Rule of thumb, the higher the clock the more juice it should eat.

how to read his kernel name eg
TNP1536-512-STABLE65 = MAX CPU at 1536Mhz(u can go lower by using setcpu or similar apps)/ GPU at 512Mhz (fixed , can't lower)/ Stable release /based on version 65

TNP1786-307-ALPHA99 = MAX CPU 1786Mhz / GPU 307 Mhz/ ALPHA release (as the name suggest, its only an alpha)/ version99

Stock Gnex CPU MAX at 1.2Ghz and GPU set at 307Mhz

go for the stable release if you want proven and stable kernel

go for experimental release if you want to be living on the edge and test all the latest morfic put into the kernels

oh forgot this , if you noticed the kernel names either starts with TNP or TUV

TNP = Trinity Nexus Prime
TUV = Trinity Under Volt

So if you want to get a kernel with the lowest default power consumption, u can try TUV kernels BUT it may not work properly on your device as all device are different tongue.gif

One X will be smooth if they stripped down the Sense UI. Sense UI makes it bloated anyway.
yes, S3 NFC can be used with others NFC, but only certain stuff can beam. As I mentioned earlier, only app link, URL, contacts can be beam with non S3 devices.

Pictures, files and such can't be beam with normal Android beam. Only S-Beam from Samsung can make it happen. But only able to do with S3 to S3 at the moment.

Android beam is the fundamental using NFC technology to transfer small stuffs. S-Beam makes it further... So if future Androids can optimize the NFC like S-Beam, it wouldn't be a problem anymore to transfer stuff seamlessly and fast.
*
There are software than can work like s-beam but via bt instead of wifi direct. Try search nfc tapping by file expert. I've successfully transferred files such as movies n songs between 2 nexus with it . Pretty seamless but if course bt will never be as fast as wifi direct. But good poc, it was actually available before s-beam existed:p

I think it's our Galaxy Nexus...
If it's not, we'll be getting it real soon too(assuming it's LTE version or Sprint, or maybe Japanese's) because in the end, it's still Galaxy Nexus. Means Google will release the latest firmware for it 1st compared to other devices.

it is !! the title already gave away the hint. HSPA+ model thumbup.gif

Hi guys..i've noticed that viewing youtube, it loads faster when using browser as compared to the youtube app. So I kinda prefer using the browser. But..how to get the video to play totally full screen when viewing using browser? Thanks...
*
Browser it will default to lower quality video most of the time , YouTube apps will default to HQ videos all the time

laugh.gif You're on AOKP? I know AOKP got that feature to hide and show navbar. Since they can make it to toggle the navbar. You try and suggest them to integrate the three buttons into the Power Menu too. Should be even more convenient if you're just going to press Back once or Home once  laugh.gif
Y need to suggest? The 3 buttons already integrated to the power menu if u choose to. The option to do that had been there even before m5.

does anyone remember the app that uses the proximity sensor to power on the screen? someone have posted about it long ago though.. i've no idea where is it

Look for Smart Screen On Lite.

I'm using it full time to switch on my phone, battery use is negligible .

hi guys,

does anyone have issue with data connection loss for no reason?
i need to reboot my phone or switch on/off airplane mode for me to get back the connection. it's just got greyed out sometimes..

currently on 4.0.4 with aokp m5, stock kernel i think.
baseband : I9250XXLA2

is it only me? sorry if i'm asking noob question, i seldom read forum..and this is my first smartphone.
*
wahh didn't know you also use this phone hehehe ..

anyway, since aokp b39 and now b40 both with trinity kernel , i have not face the data connection loss issues yet (finger crossed).

maybe you should update from your current m5 which is kinda old by now tongue.gif

lol mikeee...ya..i just got it last month, din do anything after m5. too lazy to update.
btw, if i update my aokp, do i need to wipe my data?

and i did try the getril apps...doesnt work for me as it mention my baseband is matching.
*
it is always advisable to wipe and flash BUT I've always dirty flash anyway as long as its from the same dev and same OS level , ie. 4.0.4 to 4.0.4

to be on the safe side, i always do a nandroid backup before dirty flash, so if there are problems then all i need to do is to restore the nandroid. You can try dirty flash first, if kacau then only you wipe and flash lor ..

CM9 RC1 = 5.3k Antutu
CM9 RC1 + Trinity = 6k Antutu

One thing I don't like about CM9 is that the battery usage stats don't stick after a restart.  Nova launcher isn't as smooth as on AOKP as well.  But it has DSP Manager!  And can add search button on navigation bar!
AOKP cannot add search button on navigation bar meh ? IIRC, u can add anything to the nav bar including widgets smile.gif

yes, AOKP faster come out JB rom. this is the main reason I roll back to AOKP.

about google maps update, do we still need ownhere? if yes, please share if you already have ownhere v6.9.0 (prefer /system/app version). no time to google it at this moment.
*
my guess you still need ownhere for the navigation part. Its still not enabled by default for Malaysia
