Android 4.1 Jelly Bean improvements
QUOTE At Google I/O today we announced the latest version of the Android platform, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). With Jelly Bean, we’ve made the great things about Android even better with improved system performance and enhanced user features. Improvements include a smoother and more responsive UI across the system, a home screen that automatically adapts to fit your content, a powerful predictive keyboard, richer and more interactive notifications, larger payload sizes for Android Beam sharing and much more. For a lowdown on what’s new, head over to the Jelly Bean platform highlights. Of course, Jelly Bean wouldn’t be complete without a healthy serving of new APIs for app developers. Here are some of the new APIs that Jelly Bean introduces: Expandable notifications: Android 4.1 brings a major update to the Android notifications framework. Apps can now display larger, richer notifications to users that can be expanded and collapsed with a pinch. Users can now take actions directly from the notification shade, and notifications support new types of content, including photos. Android Beam: In Android 4.1, Android Beam makes it easier to share images, videos, or other payloads by leveraging Bluetooth for the data transfer. Bi-directional text support: Android 4.1 helps you to reach more users through support for for bi-directional text in TextView and EditText elements. Gesture mode: New APIs for accessibility services let you handle gestures and manage accessibility focus. Now you can traverse any element on the screen using gestures, accessories, you name it. Media codec access: Provides low-level access to platform hardware and software codecs. Wi-Fi Direct service discoverability: New API provides pre-associated service discovery letting apps get more information from nearby devices about the services they support, before they attempt to connect. Network bandwidth management: New API provides ability to detect metered networks, including tethering to a mobile hotspot. Now Stock Vanilla can transfer files seamlessly like S3 yo.... |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Jun 28 2012, 10:19 AM) CM9 RC1 = 5.3k Antutu Doesn't work with 4.0.4 tested before...CM9 RC1 + Trinity = 6k Antutu One thing I don't like about CM9 is that the battery usage stats don't stick after a restart. Nova launcher isn't as smooth as on AOKP as well. But it has DSP Manager! And can add search button on navigation bar! Downloading AOKP b40, probably stick to it until JB Added on June 28, 2012, 10:21 am I've used this one in a few phones, GB and ICS, works fine. Put a shortcut on your dock for easy access https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...e=search_result |

OK confirmed, can't flashed from 4.0.4 IMM76D-yakju to 4.1 IMM30D-takju build.
We needed, stock Takju (4.0.4) IMM30D build then only can flash to JRN (Jelly Bean). Unless someone did a nandroid backup of stock Takju IMM30D and shared out... This post has been edited by Doomsday: Jun 28 2012, 10:42 AM |

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Jun 28 2012, 01:30 PM) ok, so will need cwm la ? i'm currently using twrp one last Q, i've seen some report saying that it will even wipe the SDCARD , did that happen to you? thanks QUOTE(Kyl3 @ Jun 28 2012, 01:38 PM) yea, does the kousch dump wipes the /sdcard? tempted to try but just flashed to CM RC1 on yesterday. SD card content still intact. Using cwm to do the trick like you flash ROMs. SD card content will only completely wipe off it you relock to bootloader. |

QUOTE(SillJexster @ Jun 28 2012, 08:11 PM) Is it just me or does the font on Chrome looks thinner than in ICS? Nice discovery. Will write a review on it later. If I am still awake later. LolGuys, try holding either the back, home or recent app button and then swipe up. It should take u directly to Google Now QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Jun 28 2012, 08:48 PM) Anybody have the same observation as me ,the phone now seems to run a lot cooler compared to ICS . I've been actively using the phone and it only get a little warm Didn't notice the temperature, was using casing so can justify the temperature if it is much cooler.QUOTE(im_not_stupid @ Jun 28 2012, 08:55 PM) On Jelly bean since this morning.
