What to do when you first get your phone

QUOTE
1) check for matching IMEI with phone and box.

2) check all contents are available in box

3) check for dead pixels. use samsung function test by typing this code *#0*# into the dialer. go through all the test and make sure everything is working

4) check for any hardware defects by pressing the phone at several spots for squeaking or weird noises.

So fast,i dint even get the time to reply about the uncle kuli post, hahaha

the young chinese guys that he call lansi face,he's the one who helped me alot to change my hp one on one while the malay pak cik that he said geleng2 kepala when the first time he saw me,he's the one who look at me like im a criminal that brought defective phone to change..

Btw ,im malay and thanks to this chinese boy so call lansi by uncle kuli,i can get my new one on one changed even at that time they have a long que and only 2 staff there, around 12.30 something, ppl go out for lunch and spend time to buy s3+pay bill.

Owh..Uncle KuLi is an oldman around 50++ with no knowledge on smartphone, from the conversation i heard from him and the staff,he keep on asking bla bla bla and impressed when that guy know how to do basic test on phone the *#0#* ..  and from what i can see from his profile, sometime he bashed on android and sometime he praised android.

I think uncle should stay with iPhone,it more user friendly.

Btw uncle KuLi,i've tried to be polite and mesra by talking to u and the staff,i dont expected that u judge ppl from the first time u met,u call me sohai,u call that chinese boy lansi.

Agree! After 5 charging the battery still drain quite fast. The standby time also not as good as HOX. My HOX standby time can remain at 100% after about 8 hours maybe due to extra 5th core.
*
HOX stand by time is nice.....but once you start using it... tongue.gif

and its impossible for HOX to reach 4 hr + screen on time....its just too hard for it unless u disable all vital functions

Bro ZeneticX, is it possible for you to give links/simple guides in the first page so that the new ones can learn how to flash/root their phones? It'll help them understand the details better. smile.gif Just a thought though.
*
i will update those later on.

can someone try to run antutu benchmark on their phone and provide the scores? thanks..
*
the first time i run it ( when i just got my phone) it's able to score 12k+

now i keep running it, only around 9k+

i think its due to the apps loaded. because i notice from the history, the cpu score went down

Actually cost of S3 and Gnote battery is cheaper than last time like Nokia premium model which battery alone RM299 or something...i was shock when 1st i see the Gnote battery cost at RM139 which cheaper than i thought.

RM2k + HP battery should be around RM199++

are you sure the S3 battery build in NFC ?
*
NFC chip is inside the battery. can take a look at the battery, there written NFC

Crazy ass! This thread is moving so fast like lightning! At first I'm planning to get the 64GB version and add another 64GB microSD but read online that the 64GB version will only be launched by end of year so I'll get the 32GB version with 64GB microSD tied up 2 years under Maxis. Anyone's S3 confirm able to work with SanDisk's 64GB Class 10 microSDXC?
*
no problems with it. i'm using currently

but don't have 32gb now yet. only 16gb

patut la.. zzzzzzzzzzz my scores fluctuate from 6900 to 9900 to 10000... i have quite a number of apps running at the back ground.. hahahaa.but i love it cause it tells u how fast ur SD card is reading and writing.. jus incase i get a faulty one.. i got my self a 32gb class 10 sandisk with 30mbps read and think its showing 14mbps write..
*
yeah because of apps running in the background so the cpu score went down. affecting its overall score

if you take note at the histories the gpu and other test their scores are pretty the same. only the cpu score where it will go up and down significantly

but as long in real usage its smooth, benchmarks are nothing

QUOTE(Ch3n_low @ Jun 7 2012, 06:04 PM)
Can S3 be used as personal hotspot like the iphone???

no problems at all

Samsung mentioned during the media launch that the 32GB version will come later (I expect it to be within 1 month, by end of July hopefully), 64GB based on market demand (I think not so much demand here)
*
that's why i mention "YET"
