Anyone tried this before? I need to upgrade my WLAN card instead of stuck at 72mbps.

Two weeks ago when I was at London, I switched of my Y580. But didn't unplug the power cable. When I return 5 hours later, the notebook refused to start. But I managed to start it after unplug the battery. After that I plug the battery in again and it still starts normally.

When I returned this week, I have decided to give it a try again, I switched of the notebook, but leave the power cable attached (with power switched on). The same thing happened again. And this time it refused to start no matter what I do sad.gif

Anyone facing the same issue?

I sent in my Notebook for service in the afternoon, but unfortunately it can start again sad.gif

It is very difficult for me to prove this problem to them sad.gif

Besides, I was told that we only entitled for 1 year of warranty. But all the ads on every single sites / newspaper says that there are two.

They want me to produce the receipt shows that there are two years warranty. But the seller never write that in the receipt sad.gif

WHAT CAN I DO NOW sad.gif

I have sent an email, but with no response. Then with another email threaten them to bring this issue to the net, then only I received a call informing me that my warranty had revised to 2 years.

And I finally sent my note book for service on the 23rd.

But unfortunately until today, I didn't receive any feedback from them. Calling to their service centers (very difficult to get through) after wasted 10 ~ 20 calls then only they will pickup my call and inform me that I have to wait for another week, because there is NO spare parts. sad.gif

This is very dissapointing for taking so long to fix an item that is still under warranty (my item is only 2 months old). Please think twice if you wish to buy Lenovo for any serious work. vmad.gif

Besides, I have a feeling that all my good parts will be swapped when receiving it back (luckily I have snap a photo of all the serial numbers). sweat.gif

Err... Why not just sent to the service centre?
I think it was located in Lowyat and I heard some Y580 mates have commented that they are very good at it?
Phone Support not sure, but I know HP is good with their phone line support and did really did a fantastic job since I have 2 compaq and both also warranty until 99. xD
Lol, you really do have some bad luck.
Even the girl who called you back also ill treated you. sweat.gif

I believe I am not the only bad luck guy.

If service center takes more than 10 days to service my machine, it will certainly takes the same amount of time to service others.

I will have to give them a call again today. Otherwise nothing will happen sad.gif

OMG, I discovered another problem with the Boardcom unit for my Y580 sad.gif

Besides the slow performance (72mbps) for the wireless N, the Bluetooth will also hang when the WIFI usage is heavy.

Example, when I am transferring large files from 1 computer (around 5GB) and at the same time I send multile small files (more than 1000) to another computer using WIFI only connections. My Bluetooth mouse and Handphone will stop working.

The only solution is to restart the computer or hibernate, and the power up again. sad.gif

Anyway solution to this issue? I am already using the latest drivers.
