I don't think so.
The one and only possibility that Y580 price will drop is only due to NOS (new old stock).
As usually the new model comes out, then the stocked unit usually have to have at least some price cut.
But knowing that Y580 is one of the best and cheapest gaming spec machine, I really doubt there are much changes.
Maybe 50? But is the slight changes justified for the wait?
For mine situation, I waited for more than a year when I decided to change my notebook until I found a suitable one.
So if 3 months ago it is possible to get it, and the price 3 months later is only 50 bucks different then it makes no sense for me to wait.
Aiya, it's time to format and install if you asked me.
So many times also cannot fix liow.

Guys, don't jealous, I already purchase the product key with promo price US$14.99(convert to Ringgit is RM48.83) and downloading Windows 8.....

The upcoming white colour y580 has no spec difference with the current black one right?

i think the old grey dawn model should come with win 8 for new stock.. wait for the white model to come out then decide which one should you get.. or if you had more budget can consider to get Y500. come with ultra bay slot which can be replace with additional graphic, hard disk or fan.

just wondering, will the windows 8 offer code that we get expires?

Some update here, important notice!!!!

I got my y580 Win8 version, and i just found out it is a "Single Language Version"!!!
This version is just like a Win7 Home Basic, not the Win8 Pro version!!

The worse thing is, this so called Win8 Single Language Version is NOT ENTITLED to upgrade to Win8 Pro version at the promotion price of RM50!!

People who plan to get y580 currently should look for win7 HB version instead of win8 version if you want to get Win8 Pro at RM50!!

I think win7 HB version of y580 will slowly replaced by win8 SL in the market, so those who plan to get a y580, act fast!!
