I'm not sure how many people aim for a stable overclocked system like me. Nvm, i'll js start this new thread and see how many ppl participates tongue.gif

Objective: This thread is created as a reference for forumers to know about some tested 'stable' settings. Well, it's kinda show off for your system stability too biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Prime95 / SP2004 ranking

1. Ranking based on number of hours. Main aim is to test CPU, RAM, FSB stability in parallel.

2. Run 2 instances of Prime95 / SP2004. One for CPU and one for RAM/FSB stress test. Must be able to pass 12 hours of stress test. Less than that are not acceptable.

3. Screenshot must show "passed 12 hrs"together with CPU-z (1st tab) .

..................................................................................................................................................................

Full load strictly on Prime95 / SP2004:
I prefer prime95 24hrs bcoz it's really an indicator of stability. last time i was able to run 21 days UD (something like folding). Well, after 21st days my system auto restarted, so i tested with Prime95. Found out tat it failed during the 6th Hour !! After that detune the settings so that prime95 can run for 24 hours, and then able to run more than 1 month of UD without any laggy problem due to instability.

..................................................................................................................................................................

How to run 2x Prime95 in one shot?:

- copy and paste the prime95 folder.

- to run CPU stress test : option -> torture test -> custom.
Set min FFT to 8K, max FFT to yr L2 cache size. TICK 'run in place FFT' and set to 1 min.

- to run RAM stress test : option -> torture test -> custom.
Set min FFT to 8K, max FFT to 4096K. RAMsize = 1/10th of yr system RAM, UN-TICK 'run in place FFT' and set to 1 min.

..................................................................................................................................................................

For HT/ Dual Core system
"i think for computers with HT, dual core, or other PCs with "more than one CPU" should have prime95 running on separate affinities. if it's not changed, then at the end of the day, regardless of how many instances of prime95 is run, your CPU utilisation would be 50% at most." - thanx myuu for reminder

SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD
Prime 95 download
SP2004 download

..................................................................................................................................................................

Uptime ranking

1. Ranking based on the number of days your computer runs without restart.

2. System uptime must have at least 7 days continuous .

3. Full load uptime is more preferrable.

How to check uptime?

- show your LAN connection time.

- use Sisoftware Sandra. At information module, choose 'windows information' and check for 'time since start-up'

..................................................................................................................................................................

Please include this in your post, for example:

Can't really stable at high o/c with tight timing. Gonna tweak a bit later.

I suspect it is your PSU. I encounter this kinda problem with unstable PSU voltage. Well, sometimes it is also due to heat too.

Why don't u decrease the HTT a lil, maybe 280MHz? You can check again with prime95. wink.gif

Bro..at 1.55v and 2.7ghz for X2...i bet the Thermal power will be at least 130watt which is same like prescott. So u cant say 56C is high . If on stock cooler..sure the processor under RmA now. rclxms.gif

Database updated.

Anyway, I plan to set new rules:

1. Ranking of SP2004/ Prime95 will give priority to candidates who overclock CPU+Mobo+RAM.

2. That means if a person who get 1000 hours with only overclocking CPU only, he / she will lose to a person who only get 100 hours but overclocked CPU + Mobo.

In short, the ranking priority will be:

CPU+Mobo+RAM > CPU + Mobo > CPU only

Any comments please feedback here, I'll set the rules after all assignments have finished wink.gif

Can, js run yr Folding@home for 1 whole week without restarting windows, then u can post it in uptime section biggrin.gif

haha, actually i refer to chipset overclocking. It works for AXP or ES CPUs only, because their multiplier can change without increasing FSB/ HTT to boost up clock speed.

eh, curious about how to count the uptime, must prime for 20-30 days? or need to on the PC only?
I mean only see the PC on for how many days or MUST PRIME for days?

Both, switch on your PC and prime at the same time. It is a test of your systems stability and uptime rite.

Full load is not required actually, but full loading for days and months of course better la (rank priority is higher than non full load uptime) biggrin.gif

Well, MBM5 can log the CPU usage, but i guess not everybody is using, and the logging might cause some problem in some system. So i js trust the results u guys posted here if u claimed to have 2 months full load uptime wink.gif
hey, y dun u post yr new result with Ballistix biggrin.gif

c9, i'll see yr results after 3 months, hahahah. You'll be the top by tat time biggrin.gif

I never primed my humble P4 524, but I ran OCCT on it for about 1h 30 mins with no errors, last I tried with a crazy OC after 4 mins it came up with an error message

Hi sifus,

This is my first attempt of OCin. rclxm9.gif

Here is my screenshot:

I managed to increase my CPU core from stock, 2.7GHz, 100% load to 3.02GHz, full load.
The changes that I've made is:

Increase multiplier: 15x
Stock HT Ref Clock: 200
Stock voltage: 1.325volt
Decrease memory: 333Mhz

I tried to increase the multiplier, ref clock and also voltage but my prime95 fails. cry.gif

MOBO: GA MA78GM US2H
RAM: Kingston value ram 2gb and 512mb.
CPU: AMD Athlon x2 775 B.E
