SII writes that it supports till 32GB because back then, there were no 64 GB microSDs... even if there were any, it wasn't mass produced yet.

Just bought me a 32GB class 4 Kingston... DAMN~~~ the shop just sold out its class 10s... would have gotten that one instead.. but the class 4 reading speeds are still alright

The higher the class, the faster it reads data

but the higher the class the higher the price right? blush.gif how much you buy yours?

My measly class 4 was RM75.

Class 10 was going for RM112. I would have bought class 10 if they had it... but aih... no luck

ow thanks..is there any indication of what class from the package?i meant does the package show you the memeory inside is class 10 or 4?
*
Definitely. For Kingston microSDs, they will tell you about the lifetime warranty, the class, and size on the packaging. It's even on the card itself. I'm not sure about other brands.

I'll only buy Kingston stuff when it comes to all these drives

Both my phone memory and SD card was on the verge of only 1GB++ available...

so, bumped up to 32GB on SD, now SD card has 10+ GB available and internal SD has 5GB++...

I'm not sure if this concept of free space is also applicable for our SGSII or android phones in general, but it's always good to have some free space left on the phone storage. Is it? or it doesn't matter?

Added on June 8, 2012, 12:00 pmHmm.... looks like gohkan has moved on to SGSIII, no more Siyah updates for SGSII

Hmmm... so far, been using it to play music, videos, and viewing pictures...

All my game files are downloaded to the internal memory. So there's no way to test out if let's say MC3 or Shadow Gun runs well when game data is in external SD.

Anyway to move all the downloaded data into the external SD to run the game? I tried moving the com.gamefile folder of a few games like DeadSpace and Shadowgun into the external SD, when the game runs, it prompts to download the data again.

Tried gl to sd and moved the mc3 data... however... data still seems to be in the sdcard...

Reflash back to previous working ROM/kernel/ICS/GB and see if it reverts?

guys, my phone's screen. the left side come out already. can i send my phone to samsung using my warranty ? the screen left side abit high. my right side its still normal. so weird :/
*
THey will detect if it is the device that is faulty or due to external causes and then only it will be decided if it will be covered by the warranty. Do bring it to SC though cause the way you put it, it does sound like the device is faulty not because you did something to it.

after upgrading to ICS, my phone alwayz occur "no network" .....have to restart again and again. Any idea how to solve it?
*
try a different modem. If that doesn't work, reflash to stock. if stock doesn't work, recover from previous backup you made that was working and start from there.

Nope. Wifi has always been perfect since I flashed ICS. In fact, it seems to connect faster.

Since you said that your sister ain't gonna be messing around with the phone too much,

It's still recommended to go with a standard official ROM. If you feel that the ICS official ROM is messed up, GB is perfectly fine. In fact, I advice my gf who is also a long term fellow S2 user to remain with GB since she doesn't do much tweaking with it and is jolly happy with all her GO launcher mods and themes she has with her ol' Cognition GB ROM... I know it's a custom ROM.... but that's because I'm always with her and can always rectify any problem if it happens...

Let her use the phone as it is without doing anything to it... like flashing or whatever... if she finds it good, good la.. but if she wants to upgrade, then official ROM should be fine eh?

Hmm,u got ur point there. If that's the case I will let her use it for a month and see how.The reason I wanna flash it right out of the box is because the official ICS sucks big time for my Note.It drains battery like vampire XD Not sure about S2 though biggrin.gif
*
To be very truthful, the SGSII was NON-PROBLEMATIC whatsoever when I bought it out-of-the-box.. but you know how boys are... when we know there's something more to tweaking... hehehehe...

I'm sure even if you flash something without her noticing, she wouldn't know the difference right? Might as well don't? Like how I didn't mess with my parent's phones because they wouldn't care if it's GB, ICS or JB the next year... hehehe...

Me parents will always say/ask:

"Can call/sms ah?"

"Can take picture ah?"

"Can Facebook ah?"

"Can Whats....zapp ah?"

"can online ah?"

"can play music/videos ah? Wah.... so canggih one the phone"

... and they're good to go! smile.gif

Cheers mate~ Fellow Ipoh fella glad to help out. Good choice for your sis to get one. SGSII still a blaaardy good phone to me. No rush to upgrade (although hands are like suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper itchy) to SGSIII due to it still fulfilling all my requirements now.

wow... this has been happening a few times already.... all my screen colours become inverted... the only way to get it back to normal is to reboot...

damn... what is happening? tried googling for this issue and it doesn't seem to be a common problem? Anyone facing the same issue?

EDIT: oh... found it. Bah

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jun 14 2012, 03:55 PM)
The Mysterious Inversion System issit? I ACTUALLY wanna turn it off as my browser can do it fine on it's own (ICS+), and my entire suite of apps is AMOLED-optimised (aka. Emblackened) - so accidental inversion = whiteout = not fun.

Plus I rely on double clicks for PreHome so invert gets "accidentally" activated quite a few times when I DON'T want it to, which is a PITA.
