thank you!

Besides, I have a friend who updated his Msia S2 from stock gb to stock ICS DXLP9 version (never did any root/flash). I wonder is the bootloader updated to ICS bootloaders higher than LPH too? Cause he asked me to help flash to cm9 rom and the cm9 thread says 'Make sure you're running ICS bootloaders lower than LPH!' I wonder is it necessary must lower and how I gonna check the bootloaders? or is it safe to straight flash the cm9 rom? Thanks!

Flashing stock rom though odin or kies will upgrade bootloader.  Dxlp9 bootloader is newer.  Can straight away flash cm9.

Okay! thanks.

Its basically same as nightly but with the code frozen at some point. If your coming from CM9 i dun think you need to wipe unless you face issues. From other roms its better you wipe. But i dun see the point of using the RC1 if your already on nightly.

got it. keep on wondering what is it but not much RC infos on the discussion thread. thanks!

hi, my friend is on the latest malaysian firmwares which is LPB/LPA if not mistaken. and I read from the previous post saying the cf root for those firmware doesn't work. so i'm wondering

1)is it possible to flash the firmware back to stock lp9?
2)and then flash the lp9 cf root and then flash cm9 nightly?
3)if i want to flash the firmware back to stock lp9, do i need to root it or just straight flash it using odin?

PS: a never rooted i9100 sgs2. he itchy hand can't wait i help him flash and in the end update to a lpb/lpa malaysian latest firmware and now don't have any working cf root for it. >,<

thanks.

lol, you're not familiar but not taken any chance to learn simple way to root without increasing you binary. it's noobproof man, why even bother to downgrade to lp9? there's simple way but you're decide to do confusing way. sigh~
*
cuz i did the confusing way many times already on my other friend and my phone including flashing the stock firmware to other country one. that's y since i'm familiar with the confusing way, i don wan to risk trying the new way. i know how to use the cf root just that the lpb cf root is not working. that's why i'm thinking of downgrading the lpb rom to lp9 rom and then use the lp9 cf root. and i'm wondering is it possible? i think is possible cuz i did that in gb but not in ics. so now i only want to double confirm only. lol. so any idea anyone? thanks.

it's possible but you're doing wrong. at first place you flashed the phone with diff country firmware. thats epic fail. moreover you're just doubled your work man. of coz you knew how to use cfroot because that is the easiest way to root. on the side note, you just increasing your binary. from this link it's easy how to root DXLPB firmware without increase your binary. dont even bother to use odin, jig, triangle away or whatever it is after flashed cfroot . bear in your mind that you're not in GB anymore. im glad emino could even make it.
no sir. full wipe is not necessary but do wipe cache and dalvik
*
but that's the only way during last time when msia doesn't have any ics rom yet and we're forced to use other country sammy rom if we want to stick to the original one. okay. thanks for the infos. i'll see how it goes tomorrow when i'm helping my friend. xp
