Don't you already have that P7010 tongue.gif

Anyways i would be interesting to see how many Dhrystones and Whetstone FLOPs this baby could push, quite interested in the Cache hit rates too (hopefully fixed from the last generation of quacked up processors XD)

Yes but more = better laugh.gif

I think the cache hit weirdness might be due to their cache power optimizations. Only 1/32 of the entire cache is powered on at any 1 time IIRC.

Where did you get the numbers btw? I want to read more about it.

This effect all Intel Core Duo users.

Click here --> Microsoft driver bug saps Core Duo power

QUOTE
Munich (Germany) and Westlake Village (CA) - Connect any USB 2.0 device to your notebook and lose more than one hour of battery time: Tom's Hardware Guide's tests of a Windows-based Intel Core Duo mobile processor platform revealed a serious power consumption issue that, according to Intel, is caused by a Microsoft driver bug - a bug that has been known by Microsoft for some time, but kept from the public eye until today.

This proves that Intel was rushed to release the Core Duo.

This is the follow up.
Click here --> Windows / Core Duo fiasco: An industry asleep at the wheel?

QUOTE
Late on Friday evening, after nearly two weeks of testing and investigation, we revealed that Intel's mobile dual-core poster boy suffers from a major flaw which sees USB 2.0 devices sap upwards of 80 minutes of battery life. Intel has pointed the finger squarely at Microsoft, claiming that it's a bug in one of their drivers that's the cause of the power drain.

Who is at fault?

if it affects centrino then why some of my friends centrino really can last bout 3 hours wit a 2.0 USB thumbdrive connected??? weird ....

means even 2.0 USB thumbdrive also will drain the batt for duo cores ?

yea, i guess. it's sth to do with d sleep mode. when a 2.0 usb is plugged it, it prevents d com from going to a c3 sleep mode o sth. try this article.
