I got apply both UTM and UKM, UTM is MEng, UKM is MSc. Which one should I choose in case I get both? rclxub.gif

Is UKM any better than UTM? I apply full time coursework, and plan to work after master study. Which one will be preferred by multinational company?

I think UKM and UTM are rather different when it comes to medium, right? UKM teaches in Bahasa Melayu, UTM is in Bahasa Inggeris. Correct me if I'm wrong, since that's the whole purpose of UKM's establishment, anyway. To remove English and replace it with Bahasa Melayu dalam sistem pelajaran Malaysia demi sistem yang tidak mempunyai bahasa penjajah. (Quoting my rather zealous sejarah teacher from school days)

UKM lecturers are speaking BM and mainly BM based in tests. How could engineering subjects be taught in BM ? My goodness.

Well ... I was unlucky because I learned BM in secondary and university. When I started to work, I found that English is really important.

It is very weird when scientific terms are translated into English. For example, beam in BM is 'rasuk' . You said 'rasuk' to engineers, they don't understand you.

double meanings .... that's why lah, really funny, right ?

seldom we have BM speaking engineers in Malaysia, they all speak English. I think, for other fields, English is still the most popular English spoken.

I had a hard time to improve my English when I started to work.

Of course, when two employees , one could write and speak English efficiently and another one could only speak and write BM, if you are the boss, who would you pay more ?

During meeting, your boss and others are all speaking good English and you barely speak rojak English , how do you feel ?

another funny BM version : reinforced concrete - konkrit bertetulang

Yup, u are right.. If UKM, it will be in BM..
Don't know much about master level, but for degree level, have to suffer translating, because exams will be both in BM and English, its compulsory to answer in both languages...

sounds like a shit place to study in. no offense to people from UKM... most of my school teachers were from UKM, and they can't speak much English even though the subject's in English.

No difference in Msc or MEng. Both are equal. As for the uni, go for utm. Reputable uni for engineering studies. You won't be disappointed.
