My PS3 YLOD'ed (phat 40GB). It served me faithfully for 4 years. Kamikaze'd with the newly downloaded Mass Effect 3 (from terion) and all my saves
Since I've played most of the hot PS3 titles, and the consoles are nearing the end of their life cycle, I thought to give the x360 a try. I got it for cheaps too (4GB version). Totally different world. I find the games more pricey though in lyn with less variety, probably because piracy is easier and more rampant with x360. But I did get a few games at a bargain though from fellow lyns at x360 pasar malam.
So currently, my sole complaint is the controller. Why do u guys label the PS controllers as inhuman? I don't get it. It's symmetrical like how our hands are symmetrical. The x360 controller strains my hands, so 0 points for ergonomy. Yes, i am using the index finger for L/RB and middle finger for L/RT. In fact, i thought they switched the D-pad with the Lt analog stick just to avoid copyright infringement lawsuits from Sony
Thanks, but won't be getting this coz i want wireless gaming.
Anyways, I hope i'll get used to the x360 controller soon.
No wonder you're cramping, the xbox 360 controller is designed to be held by adult hands not child/dwarf/hobbit hands. Most xbox fanbois here love the joypad for the following reasons. In most properly keymapped games, you never have to press both the lb/lt and rb/rt buttons at the same time. You only have to designate the index finger for those buttons. You can/should be using your remainding 3 fingers to grip the controller which fits snugly into your palm. Using the index fingers for the left/right triggers is supposed to emulate triggers for guns (which is more natural than using the middle finger) in shooters for example and providing better accelerator/brake control for driving games. I'm sure other users can provide better examples.
the dpad being on top of the analog controller is a throwback to an era where you actually used dpad as the primary input device. Users of the sega saturn(the first analog gamepad-which came with nights into dreams)/dreamcast/original xbox have always understood that the analog stick for movement makes the most sense as its the normal resting position for the left thumb.
