Dont waste time on taskkillers. I have posted a long post previously saying why is not necessary. Worse it uses up battery unnecessary.

Took about 20 minutes via WIFI on UNIFI to download 326.16MB worth of files. Kinda small?

Rebooting took about 20 minutes in total. After that another 3 minutes or so to update all your apps. I think that depends on how many apps are installed and how big your SD card.

Time to officially say goodbye to GB. You have been good. Here's hoping that ICS will give a new feeling to the 6 month old Note.
Yes, all apps remain so far. Additional apps also installed.  rclxms.gif
You sure?  biggrin.gif

Great. So you are the first one who has reported in a successful update OTA

let's hope can warranty for free!

Warranty should be FOC
Do update us final result. Just hope you do not need motherboard change as so often described by those seasoned XDA guys/developers due to this factoryfs problem
Normal reflashing of rom just take 1-2 hours at Service Center

yeah i hope so too!
bought this phone 2nd hand so yeah...
thought can just flash back original stock rom but even the samsung ppl there can't seem to solve the problem..
will update u guys about the warranty later on! smile.gif

Added on May 24, 2012, 1:01 pmand and according to the warranty center, they said the the phone was rooted 4 times. so i'm abit stress about that.. T.T
*
Normally the Service Center dont bother about it. Actually you can first use odin in PC to flash a test kernel to remove all traces of flashing. That was what I did for a friend who hardbrick his NOTE last week. He flash so many types of kernels - 6 types trying to revive the phone and raked up a record of 6 which was obviously shown in download mode
He got his phone back FOC rom reflash
Your case is what the XDAer called Superbrick as stuck at factoryfs stage but phone can still boot to download mode

Sifu Uncle Benny and Sifu Bro Antu... I will do my RRV2 flashing today or tomorrow depending on the download speed but i have few question, since i have Taiwan ROM i will use below procedure..

The procedure that i will use will be

- boot in Recovery
- Wipe Caches and Dalvik only!!! Don't FullWipe!!!
- Flash ROM
- reboot system

In my recovry mode with 5 options
1. Reboot system now
2. apply update from external stroge
3. wipe data/ factory reset
4. wipe cache partition
5. apply update from cache

SO,

1. Is "apply update from external stroge" option = Flash Rom
2. Wipe Caches and Dalvik only!!! Don't FullWipe!!! = wipe cache partition
*
Run apply update zip n select cwm.zip which you must put in ext sdcard. Cwm.zip from Dr ketan

I have been posting about need to flash ketan cwm.zip for msian ics rom to have recovery. Only those who do not follow the postings are ignorant. And since yesterday many parachute users suddenly jumping in. They don't even bother read page 1. So another round of senseless questions which can be answered if they read page 1 first

Tested only ver 1.1 n 1.5. Rocket anytime
Kingdroid slight buggy at times ESP with unannounced slight freezes at times. Is a more fancy rom

bro..ok like this la..i will spoonfeed u..

1. download this file CWM.ZIP

2.transfer the file into ur sdcard

3. reboot to recovery=apply update from external storage=install the cwm.zip u just transferred and wait until CWM recovery appear. [COLOR="Red"]

4. that is CWM recovery..then just wipe cache and dalvik

5. after that go to install from sd card=choose from sd card=find RR V2 and install it..after successful install just reboot system and u will run RR V2..
*
And I'd suggest if he is worried about safety of the kernel, flash Abyss kernel 4.2 first - boot into Abyss recovery and select wipe data/caches and flash rom from it

To those concerned about safety issues of the ICS kernels, this is my opinion

1. DO NOT wipe any data from its default recovery ( whether is lpy, lpf, lp9, lp5, lp6 )
2. If you wish to flash another rom, flash Abyss Kernel 4.2 and use its recovery to wipe data, caches and flash any zip rom you need
3. Do not even attempt to do factory reset from settings of phone
4. DO NOT attempt to flash latest Msian ICS roms thro KIES if you are not on original official Msian stock rom ( rooted is still OK ). One user here has his emmc partitions fried trying to update from a Taiwan ICS rom ( i think) and got stuck. He tried to reflash it using Odin in PC and got the feared factoryfs uncomplete and phone hang. This is what the seasoned XDAers called superbrick and their recommendation is to change motherboard !!!

Follow these and I am sure you will be safe. Of course there will still be several doubting Thomas who even advise you don't even bother to use ICS roms
If you want to use ICS, use it smartly

Already said many many times it is just a temporary recovery. So you flash it again and you will get CWM and proceed from there

Noted..

Added on May 24, 2012, 6:56 pmJust wanna confirm..since im on lp9 rooted...i use the following method to flash to rrv2 right :

b1) coming from RocketROM v1, other rooted LPY-ROM or rooted ICS Stock ROM (No Wipe):

- boot in Recovery <---- (boot in stock recovery and install cwm zip again to get temporary cwm,and start from thr)
- Wipe Caches and Dalvik only!!! Don't FullWipe!!!
- Flash ROM
- reboot system
-...you are done

Simple as that right ?
*
After boot in recovery - install Abyss Kernel 4.2 . Do not reboot phone. Select boot into recovery and than use Abyss kernel redpill recovery to wipe data/caches and flash the rom zip file

Some quick impressions of MidTeam 1.4 :

- need to restart phone to do first app install as INSTALL button freeze
- camera switch to video mode freeze. Have to close app and restart it to activate it
- SVoice FC each time. I replace the apk from another source - it works but response is extremely slow. Worse than original VLingo app. Not useable at all
- default browser is very fast and sync with my Chrome bookmarks perfectly well
- Calculator, Maps missing - have to restore from my previous TB backup
- SPen response poorer esp in taking screenshots - need to wait 1 sec not instant anymore
- UI quite smooth and weather widget animation ( based on SGS III) is nice
- Handy shutdown power button choices with recovery and download mode included
- Need to move Angry Birds Space app to SDcard to have it working

Compared to Rocket V2 - my choice is still on Rocket as is way much smoother and without some of the negative issues as above
